ICE will target California neighborhoods in wake of state’s new sanctuary law

WT: The head of the federal deportation agency said Friday his agents will now have to go out into communities in California even more frequently to round up illegal immigrants, now that the state has embraced a full sanctuary policy.

Tom Homan, acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, made the comments a day after California Gov. Jerry Brown signed SB54 into law, canceling almost all cooperation state and local authorities can give to federal deportation officers.

He said the effect could be even more rank-and-file illegal immigrants snared because federal officers will now have to operate out in the community, rather than focus chiefly on prisons and jails.

“ICE will have no choice but to conduct at-large arrests in local neighborhoods and at worksites, which will inevitably result in additional collateral arrests, instead of focusing on arrests at jails and prisons where transfers are safer for ICE officers and the community,” Mr. Homan warned.  more

  1. About time. I can remember when every Mexican restaurant where I lived had bimonthly Immigration Agents rounding up illegal aliens. Get the Shadow Dwellers back home where they can get some of that Mexican sunshine.

  2. I have this mental image of ICE agents going into those neighborhoods in heavily armed convoys, like in Blackhawk Down, with California Police and National Guardsmen taking potshots at them as they fight their way back out, carrying their dead and wounded with them.

    🙂

  3. Illegals aren’t that hard to find. Home Depot, garden supply stores, equipment rental shops, hell, just wait at the gas station early in the morning where they stop for breakfast. Get the rest of them in the afternoon when they stop for dinner.

  4. We’re gonna need a lot more ICE agents. Of course it will be more dangerous to round them up on the streets rather than picking them up from incarceration. I hope the first agent injured by this policy sues the shit out of California. If he/she wins I suggest not taking a check, get cash instead.

  5. I just had to take a ccw class for my permit renewal here in Cali. Every two years not five like every other state. Normal criteria taught by the instructors and established by a board of Sheriffs is “Yea we don’t suggest you ever discharge that gun unless you or a family member is moments from death.”
Not this time. Shit this time around they spent 30 minutes on “Catching a felony in the act or fleeing” and when to take the shot. They’ve always advised just being a good witness and calling 911. At the end of he class I asked the instructor, who I know well, WTF? His reply was “stop and think about it. How many LEO have we had shot or killed in the last 2 years?” And crime is WAY UP and our Libtard leaders are directly responsible. Personally I’ll remain a good witness and call 911. Not a fan of court rooms.

  6. So Brown turns around and does this. It’s as if he’s going for suicide by state, en masse.

Gov. Jerry Brown signed a pair of new laws Thursday designed to protect illegal alien tenants from being threatened with deportation by making it illegal for landlords to report a tenant’s immigration status to Immigrations Customs Enforcement (ICE).

  7. States DO NOT determine immigration status.

So, I am going to put the ICE telephone number on speed dial and make any anonymous calls as necessary to report illegal aliens. The state of California has seen fit to violate the Constitution so I will not be bound by their attempts to punish me for being a good US citizen.

  8. So, in California it is a misdemeanor to spread a sexually transmitted lethal disease because the homosexual lobby does not want to be stigmatized. We should have treated AIDS like we did TB and quarantined the sick perverts on day one and we would not have health safety issues now.
