All Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) who are admitted as first-year, first-degree-seeking undergraduate students, who have graduated from a U.S. high school, and who are determined by Emory to have financial need, will be awarded Emory financial aid funds to assist them in meeting their demonstrated need.

Who is an Undocumented Student for purposes of this program?

Undocumented Students are students who are not U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or “eligible noncitizens,” including DACA students.

Who is a DACA student for purposes of this program?

A DACA student is a student who has received deferred action under the Federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals process.

What are the components of the program?

Emory meets 100% of demonstrated financial need for undergraduate Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) who are admitted as first-year, first-degree-seeking students, and who graduated from a U.S. High school through a combination of grants and scholarships, institutional work study (DACA students only), and institutional loans. Undocumented Students without DACA status may receive an institutional loan in place of the typical work study award.

When does this program take effect?

This program is effective the fall of 2017.

Who is eligible for this program?

Any student who will enter, or has entered, Emory University (Emory College or Oxford College) as a first-year, first-degree-seeking student, has graduated from a U.S. high school, and is considered an Undocumented Student (with or without DACA) is eligible for need-based financial aid from the university.

Who is not eligible for this program?

International students are not eligible for this program. Students currently in the process of applying for permanent residency will be considered international students until they have completed the immigration process with USCIS and have received a green card. Other students currently in the U.S. (attending a U.S. high school) on student or family visas will be considered international students. International students seeking financial aid through the admission process should visit this site: http://apply.emory.edu/apply/international.php

How do Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) apply for need-based aid at Emory?

Emory requires only the completion of the CSS Profile, along with the IDOC packet (parent and student tax returns), in order to make a need-based financial aid determination for Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) (http://www.studentaid.emory.edu/apply/ucol/prospective/index.html).  Students should follow the submission deadlines that correspond with their admission plan.

Should Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) notify the Office of Financial Aid?

Yes. Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) should notify the Office of Financial Aid contact listed at the bottom of this page via email with their name, Emory ID number, admission plan (ED1, ED2, Regular), and their current citizenship status.

How will admitted Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) know what their financial aid package is?

Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) will be able to review their need-based aid package online, through the OPUS Student Center.

I am an international student who graduated from a U.S. high school and enrolled at Emory as a first year student. My visa has since expired. Am I eligible for financial aid as an Undocumented Student under this policy?

No. When a student is admitted as an undergraduate international student during the admission process, the designation as an international student will remain throughout his or her Emory undergraduate career.

How do Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) apply for admission to Emory College and Oxford College?

Please visit the Office of Undergraduate Admission website for details:http://apply.emory.edu/apply/undocumented.php.

Can Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) apply for merit-based scholarships?

Yes. Undocumented Students (with or without DACA) and international students are eligible to apply for the same merit-based scholarships available to any students. Emory University offers partial to full merit-based scholarships and membership in the Scholars Programs to incoming first-year students through the Emory University Scholars Program (http://apply.emory.edu/apply/scholars.php).

  1. Emory is considered the “Ivy League of the South”. During the campaign pro-Trump messages in chalk appeared on campus. Students demanded – and the Emory president agreed – to use campus surveillance system to identify the chalkers.

A professor wanted the Trump supporters prosecuted for “unauthorized chalking”.

Of course, Bernie and Hillary messages of support were allowed in all forms all over campus.

  2. is it possible to renounce your citizenship and remain here on the dole ?

I cannot believe the citizens are so willing to give so much away to illegal immigrant invaders who broke the law and flaunt it in their faces.

just when is the rest of the world coming for their share of the handouts ?

  3. Rule #1 for leftists is to destroy this countries continuity. They have done a remarkable job so far. People are reaching a breaking point, violence is creeping closer. They have no intention of easing off while we refuse to budge from our principles. I say let the fun begin.

  4. Soooo … why can’t every student make the claim?
If undocumented – then refuse to show any documents.
If a student can choose its “gender” then why can’t it simply choose to be an illegally-invading rat-person?

I don’t see any upside for Emory – except a “Hey! Look at me!” moment.

  5. “Emory requires only the completion of the CSS Profile, along with the IDOC packet (parent and student tax returns)…”

Doesn’t a someone need a SSN to complete a tax return?

Oh yeah, that was before obola skated into the Winner’s Circle with three of them.

(I realize that Mooch would be more appropriate for the Winner’s Circle, but no one would be willing to put the flowers on her, for fear of her bite.)
