PatriotRetort: A while back, I was listening to the podcast of Andrew Klavan’s show at The Daily Wire and he pointed out that Bernie Sanders loves to preface his policy talking points by leading off with “I happen to believe.”
I never realized it, but Klavan’s right.
Bernie’s like the Monkees. He’s a believer.
I just did a quickie Google search and found these examples of Bernie doing his best “I’m a Believer” riff:
“I happen to believe, and let me be clear — I happen to believe that it is wrong for the government to be telling a woman what to do with her own body. I believe, and I understand there are honest people. Very a lot of friends. They hold a different point of view, and I respect that. That is my point of view.”
“Look, why don’t I support a million things in the world? I’m just telling you that I happen to believe…anybody help me out here, because I don’t remember the figures, but my recollection is over 10,000 innocent people were killed in Gaza. Does that sound right?”
“I happen to believe that, in the long run, from a moral perspective, and from an effectiveness perspective, the death penalty does not work.”
