Patriot Retort: According to an exclusive report from Axios, advisers to Joe Biden want him to kick off his presidential campaign by announcing Stacey Abrams as his running mate.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a dumb idea?

Something tells me some of the same people who worked for Hillary must be on Team Biden.

Or do all Democrat advisors think black people are this gullible?

“Well, we can’t say he carries hot sauce in his purse since he’s a man and doesn’t carry a purse. So how do we get Joe to appeal to the black voters?  I know!  Let’s have him carry around Stacey Abrams instead!”

Come on, people!  The Identity Politics-obsessed Left accused Lynne Patton of being a “token” because Donald Trump employed her.  How do you think they’ll react to this?

“Sure, folks. I’m an old white guy, but look!  I picked this black woman to be my running mate! And that’s a big f*cking deal!”

But I think there’s a bigger problem with Team Biden floating Abrams — or anyone for that matter — as a running mate ten months before the Iowa caucus. Namely, the message it sends to primary voters.

Don’t tell me this doesn’t come off as over-confidence.

In other words, it’s 2016 all over again.

If you are lining up a VP before a single primary voter goes to the polls, aren’t you saying “I’m the anointed nominee?”

  16. I thought he had discounted this yesterday. Quietly, under cover of the release of the mueller report. I don’t think he’ll name her, but now he will be facing the question of ‘why not?’ His first mistake is a vulnerability, and he hasn’t even announced. Poor management.
    My prediction- he will quietly pul her ‘appointment’ and put that card back in the deck, and shuffle the cards. Then as his campaign goes on, he will publicly tease with pulling that card back out for a possible cabinet appointment. Possibly AG.
    She is too embarrassing to run the whole race, and will weaken him if she does. Neither she, nor he, together can stand that much sunlight for that long. And he knows that. It started off like a lead balloon.
    And she don’t stand on tables too good.
