It’s Not Hard To Read Between the Lines Of Nikki Haley’s Horrendous SOTU Response

We’ve been rough with Erick Erickson on iOTWreport. That’s because Erick Erickson is a sweaty, bloated non-talent that either is too stupid to realize he is not a conservative, or he thinks he’s clever enough into fooling people into thinking he’s a conservative.

Erick Erickson is calling for Nikki Haley to be recruited as the next Veep.

Erick Erickson is among the many gum-flapping pointy-headed pundits who fell all over themselves trying to etch Nikki Haley’s SOTU response into marble.

I don’t know whose speech they were watching, but Haley’s response was everything that is wrong with the GOPe. It’s everything conservatives in 2016 should not be.

Trump’s hat shouldn’t say, “Make America Great Again,” it should say, “Make Conservatives Conservative Again.”

Take for instance this passage in Haley’s response –

“We as Republicans need to own that truth. We need to recognize our contributions to the erosion of the public trust in America’s leadership. We need to accept that we’ve played a role in how and why our government is broken.”

Haley goes on to say that Republicans must fix what is broken.

At first blush it sounds like she could be “one of us,” charging the Republicans with being no different than the left, condemning the Mitch McConnells and the Paul Ryans for ceding to far too many progressive initiatives.

But that’s not what’s she’s saying at all. She’s part of the “Republicans As Obstructionists Are What’s Keeping This Country From Moving Forward” crowd. She’s in love with big government as long as it’s right-wing big government, which cannot be right-wing if it’s big.

If you’re working with the left, and not against the left, you’re the problem.

While conservatives dug their feet into the dirt for the past 7 years in order to keep the leftist wagon from rambling toward the cliff, the Nikki Haleys are clucking their tongues saying that this is what’s been shameful about the right. In her view, the gridlock is the broken part, not our past efforts to run out the Obama clock, and our current efforts to run out the Boehner, McConnell, Ryan clock.

I highly doubt that the “fixer” is talking about going toe to toe with the left in order to defeat them thoroughly and convincingly.

“We must fix our broken immigration system… [which].means welcoming properly vetted legal immigrants, regardless of race or religion.”

This is the “concerning ourselves with Syrian refugees is ‘not who we are” narrative. By the time she got around to calling the Charleston shooter a “domestic terrorist” I had had enough of Haley.

(During our SOTU open thread, many people had left already. I stayed for the Haley response, and was horrified-

Calling that dope that shot up the church “a terrorist” is a ridiculous stretch and Haley shouldn’t have said it.
What was his political cause?

He wasn’t part of any group.

  4. The venue was specifically “a response to the President.” She didn’t respond to the President. She didn’t voice an opposition to Obama; rather she voiced an opposition to the American people who are sick and tired of non-citizens being placed head of the interests of Americans. If she wants to criticize Trump, fine. It’s a free country. We aren’t all going to agree. But don’t use a speech ostensibly to “respond” to the President’s fantastical flights of fancy to criticize Trump. That was moronic. It would be like the best man standing up to give a toast at a wedding, and, during his toast, he toast an entirely different couple and not the bride and groom.

  6. I walked away from Erick Erickson some time ago, when he started attacking Trump without vetting him. It was just an all-out, “you-can’t-play-with-us, you’re-not-one-of-us” mean girl attack and it turned me off to Erickson for good. Same with Robert Stacy McCain, who strongly supported Erickson’s attacks. I quit reading them both — they are too out of touch to be relevant to me. I suspect they vacation with Karl Rove, sitting around the pool like beached whales talking about those dumb rubes who make up the base of the Republican Party.

Haley, Horne, Graham, and other SC RINOS handed the PC Lib Prog Pukes a Huge gift wrapped in shiny paper and harnessed in ribbon and in doing so set off a PC Lib Prog Puke orgy of calls and actions to remove and or destroy monuments to Confederate military heroes across the South. Josef Stalin the Russian Communist Mass Murderer would be so proud of them.

    If RINOS and LPP DemocRATS can disparage shame and stain the CBF that was created exclusively for the Confederate soldiers who marched, fought, killed, and died for it then why don’t we ever hear them complaining to Amazon to cease selling Koran’s which are read, quoted, and held so dear by the murdering Radical Islamic Terrorists that live to behead and murder innocents and enjoy being photographed while doing so?????????

  18. Great read BigFurHat. The GOPee establishment are just as guilty as the left. All Haley did was strengthen Trump and his supporters. Obviously she’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
