  1. Obama has placed himself well above most people, he likely would have his canine meals catered from the finest animal shelter rather than eat where he would be surrounded by mere peasants.

  2. Americans don’t eat cats and dogs. Hindus don’t eat beef. Jews and mohammadmen only agree on one thing: don’t eat pork. It’s a cultural/religious thing.

I don’t have any moral objection to someone eating cats and dogs, it’s just that if you try to eat mine I will kill you.

  3. I cant imagine knowingly eating a cat or dog. But I have gleefully gobbled down many a squirrel and rabbit in my younger days! My Grandpa loved squirrel better than anything in this world… except for those little Miller Ponies!!! The 10 oz Champagne of Beers!

  4. It seemed odd to me at first, Dogs were in Cages at the market for sale and families would walk their Pigs with a leash.

Was in Vung Tau 5 times, 10 times in Saigon over my 20 month tour package, all expenses paid by Uncle Sam.

Meals in Vietnamese villages/cities was a huge step up from
C-Rations. I never asked what was in C-rations and I never asked what I was eating in Vietnam (It was all good). Although I took some time before I used local village Nước Mắm (fermented fish sauce).

  5. I have read that it more than cultural taboos. The real issue is food competition. Cows eat grass or hay, which humans can’t eat so there is no conflict. Cats and dogs eat meat, which puts them in conflict with fellow meateaters. Pigs eat food waste, but since the middle East is arid food doesn’t rot as quickly as the tropics So pigs also compete for human food.
