Land of Lincoln is Sinkin’

Stephen Moore tells the tragic tale of a once great state that overburdened itself with self- serving politicians who have paid off their state employee union vote with other people’s money.

Like all Socialist utopias, Illinois is circling the drain now, with the last political survivors of the disaster-area fighting over what few economic scraps remain.

Illinois is notable for the Progressive achievement of bankrupting not just their urban empire (Chicago) but the whole state as well.

  1. As if the economic woes aren’t bad enough, throw in the boiling racial hatred that many blacks have for whites coupled with their uncontrolled propensity toward violence and it makes many of Chicago’s neighborhood, no go zones. Hell the thugs even flash mob the toney stores on the Golden Mile.

Flash mobs, gang wars, huge amounts of drugs, a racially divisive school system, every ethic group out to fuck everyone else for the sake of lining the leaders of said groups’ pockets, taxes and “fees’s” that are among the highest in the country and out of control unions have turned Chicago into a shithole.

My closet living relative lives there and I haven’t been back since my mom’s funeral in 96. Too bad because Chicago really is beautiful with tons of big city goodies like great restaurants, unbelievable museums and a world class symphony.

  2. There is a special sort of stupidity that permeates Cook County. The teeming masses of lead paint chip eating illiterates up there keep voting for the corrupt democrat machine politicians who’ve bled the entire state dry. The rest of the state, save for two or three counties, vote solidly red, but they have no real representation. The population of Cook County drowns out their votes. Downstate would gladly split from Cook County and the collar counties, and we would prosper. How it stands now, we’re essentially told to “shut up and pay”. I’d move if I didn’t have aging parents living here.
