Living to 100 may seem like a major feat, but there are communities around the world where it’s common — they’re called “Blue Zones.”
Minnesota native Dan Buettner is one of the foremost experts on how they work. Buettner’s new Netflix documentary and New York Times bestsellers reveal the secret recipe to longevity.
“It’s really what they’re not doing. They’re not doing anything consciously, and there’s where we get it wrong,” Buettner said. “We think we can resolve to get on the right diet, the right exercise program, supplement plan, superfoods, and get healthier. But it never works.”
Buettner said that the “superagers” are often walking outside, having spontaneous conversations with the people they bump into, having a smaller dinner, and eating mostly a whole food, plant-centric diet. More

He is absolutely RIGHT!
Been a spoiled brat all my life. I do exactly what I want to do as God has given me…along with all absolute due respect to all whom I love and meet upon this Earth.
I shall love all my brethren and sisters. And, then…Today?
I was reminded that I am 78 years old! All the while for many Summers and Winters I behaved as I always have and noticed no change yet,….. except I was reminded when reading about this in this IOTW Report. And….I do not fear DEATH. And, I shall carry on, as usual, and always seek the love from all, as they see fit.

If it ain’t hurtin’ it ain’t workin’.
My grandmother died about 2 months before her 101st bday.
She fried her meat until it was dead and ate potatoes every day.
She did like to talk to people and flirt.
She outlived 3 husbands and a boyfriend.
What was it she didn’t do?
She wasn’t a drunk.
One of her sisters lived to 105 and another to just about 100.
I do think it’s mostly genetic but also can be affected by lifestyle.
