Los Angeles Kicks Homeless Out Of Union Station Ahead Of Hollywood’s Big Night

Breitbart April 24, 2021

The Oscars are a day away and are already coming under fire. The city of Los Angeles is being accused of hiding the homeless as Hollywood prepares to toast itself ahead of Sunday’s 93rd Academy Awards ceremony. One man told local news he was told to either move or have his things demolished.

The celebrity-studded ceremony is being held at Union Station in Los Angeles, an area bedeviled by homelessness. But on Sunday, the homeless will not be seen anywhere near Union Station, according to a report by Fox 11 Los Angeles. More

  1. …Plato recorded Socrates describing the content and behavior at the Oscars thousands of years ago…

“Socrates] And if they were in the habit of conferring honors among themselves on those who were quickest to observe the passing shadows and to remark which of them went before, and which followed after, and which were together; and who were therefore best able to draw conclusions as to the future, do you think that he would care for such honors and glories, or envy the possessors of them? Would he not say with Homer,

Better to be the poor servant of a poor master,

and to endure anything, rather than think as they do and live after their manner?
[Glaucon] Yes, he said, I think that he would rather suffer anything than entertain these false notions and live in this miserable manner.
[Socrates] Imagine once more, I said, such an one coming suddenly out of the sun to be replaced in his old situation; would he not be certain to have his eyes full of darkness?
[Glaucon] To be sure, he said.
[Socrates] And if there were a contest, and he had to compete in measuring the shadows with the prisoners who had never moved out of the cave, while his sight was still weak, and before his eyes had become steady (and the time which would be needed to acquire this new habit of sight might be very considerable) would he not be ridiculous? Men would say of him that up he went and down he came without his eyes; and that it was better not even to think of ascending; and if any one tried to loose another and lead him up to the light, let them only catch the offender, and they would put him to death.
    [Glaucon] No question, he said.”
    -Plato, “The Cave”

…and I dare you to read the whole thing and not recognize your government and fellow citizens described by it TODAY, no matter WHAT country you live in…

  2. The elite support all kinds of crappy human atrocities as long as they, (the elite), don’t have to be affected by it.
So, by all means, hide the homeless.

  3. Why are they holding the Oscar ceremonies at Union Station in the first place? And who cares about what’s named the best movie of the year this year that no one has seen since COVID closed all the movie theaters this last year. I hate Hollyweird and about 98-99% of its celebrities. I’m also sure it also will be the usual profane, obscene clusterfuck, blame whitey, blame America etc. type of bs ceremony this year..

  4. It may be worthwhile tuning in to the Oscars to see if these are if interest during the self-worship:

    1. Any mention of our wonderful “POTUS”.

    2. Reference to the border disaster.

    3. Blessings upon the homeless who have been left behind, in deference to illegals.

    4. Calling out China for the inhumanity of the regime, and releasing of a bioweapon on the globe.

    Etc….

  5. Not having had cable or seen a movie in nearly 2 decades, I don’t even know who most of these so-called famous, self-righteous, self-important gas bags are.

  6. The homeless are just props and tools of the Leftist Elite until they have to associate with them, then they don’t want their clothes tainted by the smell. Talk about them compassionately, but NIMBY’s the woid when it comes to actually doing something!

  7. …funny thing is, the homeless always get kicked out when liberals want to build condos for neckbeards in the city core after they move the Ghetto Blacks to the suburbs by demolishing the projects and giving them Section 8 vouchers. Cincinnati did a GREAT job of that, barring them from the soiboi playground area they made with the two woke sports stadiums and the open drinking entertainment area with the Harry Bellefonte I Hate White People “”Freedom” center in the middle, even to the extent of fencing off under the bridges in the downtown area. The local media was totally OK with it since it’s being done by liberal Dems FOR liberal dems.

  8. I think we’re all missing the Union Station angle.

    It’s unbelievably beautiful.

It’s also a working train station. Had no idea the oscars could cancel train service into L.A.

  9. @Burr

The last time I was in it was about 2006 and it was run-down, furniture scarred and beaten up, and rats scurrering around at will. Good place for the Oscar ass-holes to have their love-in. And, they have out up a wall to keep the lower classes out. My hope is that they keep the cockroaches in.

It is still an art-deco masterpiece. I used to look in the round door window of the old, now shut down bar, and imagined Humphrey Bogart and Clark Gable sitting at the bar and having drinks while waiting for their trains.
