Koch, 55, has been a loyal Democrat since age 18, but the Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez’s recent statement about mandatory support of abortion among party members was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
The DNC chair declared that a hard lined support of abortion was “nonnegotiable” within the party. Perez agreed to meet with the small number of pro-life Democrats, only to receive an uproar from the pro-abortion lobby which makes large financial contributions to the Democrats. The party’s choice to stand and with the lobbyists in supporting taxpayer funded abortions under any circumstances led to Koch’s exit.
Koch has been described as a “devout catholic” who believes in “governing from the middle.” He made his position clear declaring “I’m certainly a believer in life starts at conception.” MORE HERE
How refreshing to see a politician follow his conscience instead of the party line.
I’m surprised that a DEMS take a stand against the socialist Bastard.
Assuming he is one with the other Democrat ‘values’, he’d make a fine RINO.
He’s what you’d call a Humphrey/ Scoop Jackson type Democrat; being liberal but remaining American.
The Zombie Collective’s stance on baby murder is sickening.
Too bad the Roman Catholic… “church”… can’t be as faithful to scripture.
There’s a LOTTA Catholic politicians that oughta be liberal protestants, judging by their theological… “acumen”… 🙄
Most mainline protestants are MUCH more hard line pro-life than the wildly erratic, inconsistent Catholic church! All are certainly welcome to worship, but there would certainly be some serious discussion on the subject, especially with a public office holder that votes pro-choice.
Gosh. Isn’t he a Koch brother anyway?
