Le Pen’s populist-nationalist party got twice as many votes as the governing group of Emmanuel Macron’s globalist centrists in Sunday’s European Parliament election, prompting Macron to immediately dissolve the national parliament and call fresh French elections in a bid to regain authority for the remainder of his presidential term.
When it comes to self-importance, arrogance, and condescension, Macron makes a French waiter look positively obsequious. I was delighted to read the French voting results (and most of the rest of the EU as well) and see Macron’s anguish. The schadenfreude is strong and satisfying!

I must bow to your vocabulary. I really like big words, but often have to have them defined for my less than competent understanding and edumacation.
Thought I was the only person that needed to define “obsequious”. (and I’m educated to the point of ignorance).
I too, like to throw around large words I don’t truly understand. It makes me appear more photosynthesis!

Oh, my goodness gracious! For “obsequious” I get
obloquysnark? 😮Oh c’mon! Looking up words and other things from a browser is easy. I do it all the time. I like words that have sharp, specific meanings and obviate the need to use multiple short words that tend to convey less precise ideas.
Don’t give it a thought Uncle Al, I knew what it meant and I didn’t even finish high school..;) (Those that didn’t looked it up and do know now)
