  7. Tony & Refuse, It sounds like you’re using mobile devices? If so, with Android, open your browser and go to settings > site settings > javascript

    You’ll have to play with it a little, because it’s not real intuitive. But the goal is to leave javascript enabled and then block it by the web addresses that hijack your browser.

    I hate it when I click into an article, read the first few sentences and then suddenly get a, CONGRATULATIONS! The back button does nothing, you have to close the tab and try again!

    This is hijacking plain and simple. No matter if you block popups, clear your cache or uninstall/reinstall. it is beyond frustrating!!!!

    However, blocking javascript cures the problem with only minor issues, such as:

    1.) Can’t thumb up posts anymore
    2.) YouTube videos cannot be played from the post, however you can click the title and watch in youtube.
    3.) Comment sections, like zero hedge will no longer work

    But it’s worth it not to be the WINNER of a NEW PIECE OF SHIT that you will never get!

  9. If I had a $100 gift card for every time that pop up happened… I can’t use IOTWreport from mobile anymore, for the same reason. It used to pop up once, and I’d close it and be OK for a couple hours.

  11. Tony R- If it is a mobile device, and it sounds like it is, try turning it off, then restarting it. Things get cleaned out when that is done, but don’t get done when sleep is the only alternative used.
