Mark Cuban’s Mavericks Ditch The National Anthem

Bleacher Report

The Dallas Mavericks will not play the national anthem prior to home games at the American Airlines Center this season.

They have not done so for any of their 13 preseason and regular-season home games to this point, and Mavericks governor Mark Cuban confirmed to Tim Cato of The Athletic on Monday that they will not play the song going forward even as fans return to the arena.

Monday’s home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves was Dallas’ first this season with limited fans in attendance.

An NBA spokesperson said “under the unique circumstances of this season, teams are permitted to run their pregame operations as they see fit.” More

  1. I’m from the Dallas area, and we’re not too fond of him either. I always thought one had to have some intelligence in order to become a billionaire. He and Jerry Jones are proof that isn’t true.

Anyway, I think I read that he has reversed the decision, but he was not gracious about it at all.

  2. Cuban is a modern day slave trader.

He got paid $5.7B by Yahoo to buy his website, which is no longer in existence, at the height of the tech bubble. For this, he’s a genius. He’s turned $5.7B into $4.4B in a roaring economy.

Timing is everything. He could have been the Pets.com guy and we could have had the last 20 years of never knowing who this clown is.

    Other great Yahoo failures:

    Not buying Google for $1M.

    Not buying Facebook for $1B.

Not selling out to Microsoft for $44B.

If you reflect on the worst parts and most destructive forces of the last year 20 years, Yahoo’s mismanagement contributed to most of them.
