I’m in my 70s. Bud has always been a beer for blue collar hard working MEN and rednecks (although I never liked it). I think my first beer at 15 or so was a Bud. It was bad then and it’s bad now. She also apparently didn’t study demographics very well as Gallup says only 7.2% of the US population identify as transgender, gay or some other LGBTQ group. So, she’s not making decisions based upon traditional marketing methods but rather the current fad or woke principles. Whoever hired her and signed off on her insane ideas should share her shame. Companies should make good products and stay out of politics and social causes. Same for celebrities.

Very true. But I would add the Board of Directors has a fiduciary responsibility for the stock holders to make money. For the corporation to excel. If the board fails to make a reasonable effort there are very stiff penalties. Maybe that’s how we see this woke crap resolved. Marketing to 2% of the population is not a viable biz plan.

Making your brand inclusive does not include pissing off a large percentage of your existing customers to cater to 1% of the population. Making your brand inclusive means trying to increase your overall customer base.

This only seems like a misstep. Hiring the fellow playing dress up is good for… wait for it… their ESG score! Cooking low octane barley pops for the booboise doesn’t rate very high intrinsically.
