Massachusetts On It’s Way to $15 Minimum Wage

With a signature on Thursday, Republican Governor Charlie Baker signed the bill that will set the minimum wage at $15 in Massachusetts’s in 2023. Like the frog slowly boiled in the pot of water, Massachusetts politicians are hoping business don’t notice the incremental increase in wages from $11 now to $15 in five years.

The bill also gives workers 3 months of paid family leave and 5 months leave for personal health issues.

The $15 minimum wage will match California as the highest in the nation. More

  1. “This is a landmark victory for working families in Massachusetts,” said Sen. Jason Lewis (D-Winchester). “Finally, workers, especially low wage workers, won’t have to choose between getting a paycheck and having to take time off of work to bond with a newborn baby or take care of an ill family member.”

  2. I am truly amazed by these geniuses. It’s like sailing on a lake, the boat is leaking and you drill a bigger hole in the bottom of the boat because the first hole you drilled didn’t let the water out fast enough.

  3. The real minimum wage is $0, and always will be.

All business schools teach how to construct useful ways of measuring employee contribution to company revenues. There are some non-intuitive aspects to it, but once they’ve been properly explained, with examples, it’s not rocket science to accurately compute what an employee is worth to the company.

We should lobby ofr laws to mandate minimum employee contribution to company revenue. That makes more sense than minimum wage laws. A lot more sense.
