Michigan: Search warrant executed at township hall, election equipment confiscated

Hillsdale Daily News:

The Michigan State Police executed a search warrant Friday at the Adams Township Hall on Knowles Road, north of North Adams, as part of an investigation into actions by Clerk Stephanie Scott who has been stripped of her role in future elections.

Township Supervisor Mark Nichols said troopers arrived at the hall around 9 a.m. Friday and a search warrant was executed later that afternoon. 2B District Court Judge Megan Stiverson signed the warrant at 1:45 p.m. Friday; a copy of the warrant was shown to media personnel at the hall by Nichols after police left.

The warrant, requested by Det. Sgt. Jay Barkley, allowed troopers to search the township hall for “evidence of the crime of an election law violation, including but not limited to a component of voting/election equipment. Specifically, the scan unit for a ‘Hart Intercivic tabulator.’”

Nichols said troopers seized the computer portion of an election tabulator. The county clerk’s office had taken other election-related equipment earlier in the week and discovered what has been described as a tablet-type device missing from the tabulator. The county clerk’s office asked that Scott turn over the missing equipment to their office by Wednesday morning, but she declined to turn it over prompting Friday’s police presence. more

  1. “Scott said on Tuesday that she had issues with the fact election tabulators—devices that are comparable in size to tablets—were capable of connecting to the internet and therefore, she believed, were susceptible to hacking, raising issues with election integrity.”

I’m going to withhold judgement until I see more information. I happen to agree with her statement. Another article I saw called her a “Pro Q-Anon Voting Clerk”.

  2. The S of S in Michigan has been fighting election investigations all along. If she is the one involved in this, the clerk is probably trying to keep the evidence from being destroyed and the S of S is desperate to destroy it.
