Mueller Rejects Speedy Trial Law To Delay Russian Collusion Trial

DC: Special Counsel Robert Mueller asked a federal judge Tuesday to reject the four-decade-old speedy trial law in the case against 13 Russians and three Russian companies and has asked for an indefinite delay to the Russian collusion trial.

It is the second time Mueller tried to delay the trial. Judge Dabney L. Friedrich, a Trump appointee, rejected the earlier request without comment and ordered the case to go forward.

One of the Russian companies — Concord Management and Consulting — entered the U.S., hired American lawyers, and demanded a speedy trial. The Speedy Trial Act is a 44-year old federal law that dictates that a federal criminal case must begin within 70 days from the date of the indictment.

The “complexity” of the case warrants excluding the speedy trial law and delaying the trial, Mueller argued in Tuesday’s court filing. more

  1. Looking more and more like Mueller&Co. have pulled a few pins on what they thought were dummy grenades.
Sorry, Herr Mueller the door is bolted from the outside per your order.

  2. “the complexity of the case”

it can’t be too complex if mueller brought it.

the discovery phase is what’s going to be too complex.

mueller doesn’t want to show his hand then we will all know he was only bluffing.

  3. I always thought it was the accused’s right to demand a speedy trial and not an option for the prosecution. This zealot has nothing and still twists things to cover his boney ass.

  4. Hard to believe clowns like this were once in charge of law enforcement at the federal level.

Wrap it up Mueller, you’re just making it worse for your masters.

  5. What the krapola, Muller is playing whack-a-mole with the court/judge/system. Throw him out of the court on his phony butt and report him and his gang to the Committee on Professional Standards.

  6. Two fold:

    1) Pushes the issue squarely into a mid-term get out the vote drive.

    2) Congress has to pick up the ball and run with whatever process crime BS he’s pushing so he hopes at least one house will flip by then.

It is no more complicated than that.

  7. Robespierre Mueller has a problem with a personal case of premature indictment on his way to a speedy beheading of Russian Colluders. How poetic is this bit of Justice? Caught with his prosecutorial pants down, his handpicked team of Clinton Avengers are now hiding behind the need for more time because of the complexity of their own case. I hope this judge responds appropriately. The Committee of Public Safety needs to be reminded that it is living on borrowed time.

  8. @cfm990 — A third option is that it is both, right?

I don’t understand how Mueller’s second request isn’t formed as an appeal rather than a second run at the first request. If I’m understanding the legal procedure correctly.

  9. “What we’ve got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can’t reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it. I don’t like it any more than you men.”- Captain CHL
No truer word were ever spoken about the Obama/Clinton traitorous cabal.

  10. Mueller got caught filing false charges against random people in the Russian phone book to create a publicity stunt. He’s now frantically searching for an actual crime.

Mueller’s team is not an investigative team. It is a media PR, propaganda, innuendo, gossip leak team. It’s all about controlling the media narrative.

Mueller indicted these 13 Russians on the end of what was a very bad news week for him and a very good news week for President Trump. Mueller had to flip that, and did so by announcing indictments of scary RUSSIANS knowing the MSM would run with it for days.

Both Mueller and Comey have very long records of arresting and charging innocent people with non-crimes in order to later fabricate evidence of a crime or to catch people in perjury traps/process crimes. This is USSR type tactics. They must hang.
