Musk Ends Twitter’s “covid Misinformation” Policies

RSBN: Under the guidance of Elon Musk, Twitter has ended its Covid-19 misleading information policy that resulted in the suspension of thousands of accounts and content removed from the platform.

As the Associated Press reported, Twitter users noticed that the company changed its Covid misleading information policy Monday night. An update from Twitter’s online rules stated, “Effective November 23, 2022, Twitter is no longer enforcing the COVID-19 misleading information policy.”

The same message was also added to Twitter’s transparency page for Covid misinformation, Fox Business noted. The policy was also removed from Twitter’s “How we address misinformation on Twitter” section and the URL for the misinformation policy now redirects users to Twitter’s Help Center.

Per Fox Business, Twitter implemented its Covid-19 misinformation policy in March 2020, disclosing that content contradicting “authoritative sources” on the virus would be taken down. The policy later extended to posts sharing “misleading information” about the Covid vaccines.

11,230 accounts were suspended for violating the policy, with more than 11.72 million accounts challenged and 97,674 posts removed from Twitter as of September 2022, the outlet added. more here

10 Comments on Musk Ends Twitter’s “covid Misinformation” Policies

  1. The real misinformation was coming from the CDC, the FDA, the WHO, and others promoting the death jab and masking while condemning treatments that actually worked. There’s a special place in hell for them.

  2. I can’t remember where I got this but it’s spot on: ”There is no such thing as “disinformation” or “misinformation”.  There is only information you accept and information you do not accept.  You were not born with a requirement to believe everything you are told; rather, you were born with a brain that allows you to process the information you receive and make independent decisions.”

  3. Musk’s Twitter abandons COVID misinfo policy, shirking “huge responsibility”
Under the leadership of billionaire Elon Musk, social media platform Twitter has abandoned its efforts to prevent the spread of dangerous COVID-19 misinformation on its platform, dismaying experts who say false and misleading health information can harm individuals and put lives at risk.<<

Headline and text above are from one one the sites currently stroking out/hyperventilating over the notion that information may actually flow freely. I'm surprised they didn't mention a "danger to democracy" as well.

  4. It’ll take a little while more for Musk to go through Twitter from top to bottom and back again, ridding his new purchase of thought and speech suppression. If he’s good to his words, he bought the platform because, as he put it, he believes that a free society and open society will not be free and open for long if it’s people cannot argue things out in the public square.

Now, we have to get rid of everyone in gov’t who’s been in agreement with the old Twitter.

He says the government is trying to control us. The book 1984 is mentioned.

Let me know if you could spare 10 minutes for this Orthodox priest. Was it worth your time?

I am gratified that the good Father Trenham agrees with me…… What was it NAAC stated…. “Truth, the new hate crime” and we know in truth that there is no such thing as a “hate” crime. The wef and the other “elites” of the nwo will meet their reckoning….. Of course being a “grammer nazi”, it makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck when someone pronounces literally, litrally (ala Glenn Beck)….. other than that we are simpatico.

  8. I’m so glad you all found Father’s talk on misinformation worth your time.
