TapInto.- Prospect Park Mayor, Mohamed T. Khairullah, signed an executive order to reassure residents that they will be protected from President Donald J. Trump’s executive order to ban green card and visa holders, along with refugees, regardless of any resident’s immigration status.
Exactly a week ago, President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order banning visa and green card holders, along with refugees from coming to the United States from seven muslim-majority countries, these include Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. Citing the Equal Protection Clause of the United States Constitution and Prospect Park’s Anti-Discriminatory Policy, Khairullah used his mayoral powers to sign his executive order to counteract with the President’s as he viewed it to be “unlawful” and “unconstitutional.”
Khairullah, being a Syrian immigrant himself, told his own story when his family escaped Syria from war in the 1980s, and came to the United States for a better chance at life. Using his story, he explained that the executive order was barring the potential that people in those countries have at the American Dream, and thus making America lose out on talent.
In his executive order, he made it clear that all citizens, regardless if immigrant, refugee, green or visa card holder, are safe in Prospect Park and will not turn anyone to the federal government unless they have committed unlawful actions.
Councilman Robert Artis and Councilman Anand Shah both commented and agreed that, “It’s the Muslims today- us tomorrow.” Shah added that that because of the ban, it’s threatening lives, citing a story about 4 month old Iranian who was supposed to be open heart surgery in the United States, but was affected by the ban.
In closing, Khairullah hopes that Trump will “see the light” and reverse his executive order and to see the people from those countries as human beings.

I am so bloody sick of pro Muslim propaganda disguised as news. This morning the local Fox affiliate had the story about mean old Trump blocking “travelers from predominately Muslim countries”. But a hero judge stopped the travel ban. Jump to a clip of Dianne Feinstein praising the judge, and saying “Trump is a president not a dictator”. Next a clip of a tearful reunion after the ban is lifted of this sweet Muslim mother and child meeting their husband/father at the airport. Josef Geobels is laughing in hell
Trump didn’t ban visa holders. He canceled the visas, which the administration has authority to do. 🙂

If they “unlawfully” enter the country, they have committed an illegal action and by definition of his statement will not be protected from deportation.
