New York Times Prints Attack on Men Who Haven’t Seen ‘Little Women’

Newsbusters:

Feminists demand that men must love feminist movies — even movies based on classic literature with plucky women in period costumes. On Friday, The New York Times published an opinion piece with the headline: MORE

Men Are Dismissing ‘Little Women.’ What a Surprise.

The rejection of the latest screen adaptation of the beloved novel echoes a long-held sentiment toward women-centered narratives

  1. The writer of this article about the Texas shooting has included an analysis about real men, like the kind of man who was there to defend the church members from the gunman. Good men are the ones who take their responsibilities in life seriously. Moral character is strength for a man.

“The problem today is WEAKNESS. There is an order to things when strong men exist. When there are no strong men around, and it is just weak, pathetic males, whimpering around, and sucking down soy all the time, that is when CHAOS rears its ugly head.

I feel like that is the agenda with the beta male Leftists today. They are weak! Not having a strong male figure in their lives, they do not understand how to respect other men. Therefore, they support tearing down patriarchy. They GIVE up control to the matriarchy, because they only KNOW women telling them what to do. “Patriarchy is bad.” “It is evil.” “It forcibly takes away from everyone.”

Weak males, instead of supporting a strong male culture, knowing that they will NEVER live up to the standard required to be a strong male… tear it all down. And vilify even the slightest misogynistic attitude or actions. They want ALL males to be just like them. Weak, unable to make decisions or take affirmative action.

What they do not understand, strong males, much like their pathetic soy counterparts, want other males to be just like them. However, they want STRONG LEADERS! REAL MEN!”

  2. Why can it not be a possibility that some people are tired of the umpteenth rendition of the jo-beth-amy-meg story? Maybe the lack of new, creative storytelling is the problem?

  3. Is the NYSlime going to pay for my tickets? And pay for my time?
It may be a very good movie. But I have my limits in money, time, and interests.

…let’s see YOURS do that, @NYT, might be worth watching THEN…

  5. I’d go see it if they spliced in any of those 1970’s era hockey brawls or baseball bean wars. Even better, a film re-enactment of the killing of Bonnie & Clyde.

Add a bit of action to the endless dialogue of 19th century women discussing the problems of wearing hoop skirts at tea time.

  6. I’m sure the writer would feel differently if it threatened to broaden her horizons by watching A Fistful of Dollars, Cool Hand Luke, North Dallas Forty, The Hustler or Sometimes A Great Notion.

My daughter (4′ 10″) qualified for her concealed carry with a S&W Chief’s special (2″) and the instructor complained that the grouping made it too hard to count the 30 hits on the target. Me, I did a rapid fire of three mags from Mr. Tanfoglio and said, “so are these spread out far enough for young count them?”

  8. Maybe, just maybe the movie is a failure because this is the 350th remake of Little Women? Hollywood is so devoid of ideas that they just keep remaking the same movies every 5 years or so.

  9. “the latest screen adaptation” may be the prime reason no one wants to watch it. Is anyone in WhoreWood making ORIGINAL films? CAN they come up with something original, something that doesn’t have “strong women” or POC as the heroes and white cis men as bumbling idiots? I’d rather suffer through subtitles in foreign films because at least they aren’t remakes of remakes of remakes.
