Orson Welles’ Last Film Finally Débuts

It took six years to film and another 48 years to be released. Orson Welles’ last film titled, “The Other Side of the Wind” is suppose to be a mockumentary of Hollywood at the end of the studio system. Welles’ was always short on cash with his productions and his last film was no exception. “The Other Side of the Wind” languished in a vault in France for nearly 50 years as the legal disputes over its financing dragged on and on. It took Netflix to fund the completion of the project.

The film will premier at the Venice Film Festival along with a real documentary on the famed actor and director. It is expected to hit art house movie theaters early November. More

  1. Wells was a genius in the entertainment industry … loved his (slightly) over-the-top portrayal of Will Varner in ‘The Long, Hot Summer’ … & who could ever forget his famous radio presentation of ‘War of the Worlds’

looking forward to watching this but, as Uncle Al said, when it streams

  2. Rosebud

Btw he granddaughter of “rosebud’ said my Jr. year in college that “Rich white folk could get away with murder in America”. We all laughed.
After the war while in grad school she killed 25 men and got off. She was “dead right”!

She may be dead. but she has been free for decades. PATTY

  3. Can’t wait to view it. This film will be terribly flawed and hardly understandable, but it will be very intriguing. Orson Welles and John Huston on film years after they have both been dead for decades! What could be a better way to spend a few loose hours than watching flawed geniuses pretending to not be acting or directing? These men were professionals in their chosen craft. Even their flawed films were masterpieces of movie making.
