I’m reading “The Hunter Killers” by Dan Hampton right now and I can’t put the book down.
It’s about those who flew missions during the Vietnam war to destroy the surface-to-air missile the Soviets set up for the North Vietnamese. They called themselves the “Wild Weasels” and were incredibly brave men who fought in a war poorly lead by their political leaders.
Taking a look through the photos in the book, I came across an interesting image of Jane Fonda gracing a porcelain fixture. Given that a number of the Wild Weasels were killed, wounded or captured during the war, they don’t seem to be big fans of Hanoi Jane. It seems there’s a whole line of products along this vein that can allow anyone to grace their bathroom fixture with her likeness. Here
The plain fact is, she didn’t know the difference between being against the war and being for the other side.
YGBSM! I am familiar with the wild weasels and honor their courage and commitment. No American progressive has that kind of spine and full sack.
The fact that a Viet Nam veteran hasn’t slaughtered Jane Fonda in the street says a lot about their character.
Yes, I hate Jane Fonda. Yet, John McCain, acclaimed a hero of the Vietnam war (at least in his own book) has done far more long lasting damage to the United States than this twit every could. She was young and stupid, he is old and absolutely, truly evil.
If the gun she sat her admittedly hot ass on had put one dead center cockpit on McCain the world would be a better place.
Wild Weasels have had many a platform…My Favorite of course was
the F-4G…..A variation of the Mac-D Phantom II …AGM 45 Shrike
Missiles and a serious Radar…Used in Both Gulf Wars…
Still flying somewhere I hope…
(Also the dirtiest Aircraft you’ll ever maintain)
As a former Navy F-4 plane captain whose plane was an F-4J, that Wild Weasel must’ve been one hell of a plane. Yes and I still hope as well that there still are some F-4 Phantoms flying somewhere, I loved that plane.

She did know! the Fonda family has been America hating Stalinists for 100 years. Cptn. John Ford told us 50 years ago that the Navy knew her dad was an America hating Stalinist. They could not deny him a Commission as he was thick with FDR. But they did to him (Ens Fonda) what the CNO later did with another Stalinist – Cptn J. McC- they put him in charge of a nothing. He could not learn anything useful for Uncle Joe nor could he do any real damage to America.
John Ford for the young uns was a great Director as well as an America lover!
It’s too bad the Japs couldn’t really have got Henry Fonda like they did his character in Mr. Roberts who was killed by a Jap kamakasi during the Battle of Okinawa. And any and all of John Ford’s movies and westerns rock.
The F-4, they didn’t call it The Brick for nothing.
My VFW has urinal cakes with Jane’s image on them.
You would be surprised at how many Marines retired and returned to their first hell, Parris Island.
Some cowboys rode bucking broncs, some rode bulls, the F-4 was a bull.
GEOFF
while filming Mr. Roberts Fonda had the Sherriffs arrest and throw Ford in jail! Do you know why?
I do
When perusing the Amazon ad for the Jane Fonda urinal stickers, be sure to check out the “Frequently Bought Together” note at the bottom, too.
🙂
I’d like a urinal cake with Juan McPain on it.
And when they both die, they’d both better be encased in concrete. That won’t stop the eventual piss corrosion, but it should slow it down by a year or two.
I’ll bite, why did Henry Fonda have John Ford arrested during the filming of Mr. Roberts. I’d like to hear that story. And I always thought James Cagney was the bad guy in that movie. It’s still one of my favorite movies though. And as a complete aside I once heard Paul Harvey when he used to do bumper snickers talk about a guy who had a Honda named Fenry, get it Fenry Honda, I thought it was funny.
Do they have one of William Calley?
