Poll – #NeverTrump versus #NeverCruz

I’m not putting up a clickable poll, where you simply thumb up that you’re #NeverTrump or #NeverCruz.

You’ll have to go into the comments and state with your screen name that you will never vote for either Cruz or Trump if they win the presidential nomination.

To be clear, we are not talking about voting in the primary. We are talking about not voting for them if they are the R running against the D.

If you want, you can leave a reason for your decision.

85 Comments on Poll – #NeverTrump versus #NeverCruz

  1. I prefer Cruz to Trump for President…. but unless and until the eRepublicans are completely, thoroughly and unmercifully taken out, root and branch, there is no hope for the future of America.

The best man for that job is Donald Trump.

  2. I would never vote for Cruz. There is just something so creepy about the man, from his Pat Buttram voice to his smarmy lumpy Mammy Yokum face to his American flag/flame logo based on the pentecostal logo.
And make no mistake, he’s just another lifelong lawyer/politician.
I would, of course, never vote for Hillary – and I would vote for Trump for the shakeup value.
But then I might just leave the presidential vote blank this year.
Voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil.

  3. If the election were held today, #NeverTrump–and it would take something MAJOR for me to change my opinion. This would be the first time I ever left a presidential ballot open and I will vote for the under card, but very selectively.

  4. I hear what you are saying Tennessee but maybe everyone should comment on this post.
    Don’t worry, “it’s not a cookbook”

Me, I have admittedly considered #NeverTrump.

Why? All the rancid anti-Cruz comments make me just want the world to burn.
If those yearning so bad for Trump that they scorch the earth trashing those of us that prefer Cruz, then maybe Trump isn’t the answer.

    Where I stand today:
I will vote for the nominee if Trump or Cruz.

Would I ever vote for Hillary? No.

  5. I’d prefer Cruz, but if Trump is the nominee, I’ll vote for him.

I held my nose and voted for GW, twice.

I held my nose and voted for Dole.

I held my nose and voted for HW.

#NeverHillary. But I sure am tired of holding my nose. I’d really like to vote FOR someone instead of AGAINST the Dem. It would make a nice change.

  6. Don’t think of it as a vote for Trump or Cruz. Think of it as negating a vote for Hillary. It’s not voting for the lesser of two evils. It’s voting against the ultimate evil.

  7. Why is this question making me feel like a hostage to the Uniparty? Always the same thing: “Get behind the Republicans or you’ll get the Democrat!”

It’s like the protection racket. “Nice life you got there, sure would be a shame if anything happened to it.”

But the problem, of course, is that “nice” life is disappearing like spring snow banks and American-made goods. And the same people who want me to get behind Cruz don’t care whether it’s him or Killery.

  8. I’m tired of Cruz and Trump bashing each other, I’m tired of getting fundraising letters from the RNC that promise “conservative leadership” (how many times do I have to mail them back with “take me off your mailing list” scrawled across them?), and I’m definitely in agreement with cfm990C (above).

  9. @rickeyg — We’ve never got a single email, mail or phone call from the Trump campaign begging for money. We got a Christmas card and emails thanking us for our hard work.

I got sworn at by a rep of the RNC for questioning the party’s loyalty to the people who got them the house and the senate. It figures.

  10. If either of them wins the delegates before the convention, they have my vote. I honestly dont know if I will participate if its a brokered convention.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice – RUSH

  11. #NeverSubmit

The democrats will kill the church, our military, the constitution, and they will make firearm ownership illegal so that they can go ahead with the rest of their ungodly agenda.

If that is the kind of imprisoned life you are hoping for, then you should probably just sit this one out and let your vote go to waste. Pack your bags for the gulag and lube up your hindquarters. A non-vote is a vote for Hillary or Bernie.

This is the best time in American history to vote for the conservative who has the best chance of winning — as a serious matter of national survival.

  12. Hillary, of course, will win the election because the fix is in, just like it was for 0bama. It won’t matter how you vote.
Pay close attention to Hillary’s running mate. I predict that IF Hillary does not physically collapse during the run-up to the election, she will not physically last for a four year term. I don’t think they’ll be able to hide it.

  13. #Never Shrillery
    #FeelTheBern
    #NeverSanders
    #WriteInCruz
    #WriteInTrump

The last two are supposing that the GOPe RINOs pull off a fast one at the convention, and stick us with their favored son “Yeb!”, or Kasich, or someone other than Trump or Cruz.

  14. @Abigail Adams–“And the same people who want me to get behind Cruz don’t care whether it’s him or Killery.”

Really? Can you say that before the GOPe started “supporting” Cruz, that was true, or that it’s a universally shared feeling in those of us who support Cruz? Killary was good enough for Trump to donate to and even invite her and the horndog to his wedding–there is very little difference between NY RINO liberals like Trump and Illinois liberals like Sir Edmund. Trump is only marginally better than Killary on many issues that count, but I don’t trust him to fill SCOTUS vacancies anymore than I trust her–and SCOTUS is the issue that is more important to me than immigration.

Your statement is more true when said about Trump than it is when said about Cruz–

Cruz has faults, but being a tool of the GOPe is not one of them, no matter how much your candidate tries to tell me Cruz is.

Donald Trump and many of his supporters killed any real chance they had in getting my support for him due to their desire to scorch the earth by insulting us who support Ted. I have no issue with them disagreeing with Cruz on a philosophical level–that’s to be expected in an election campaign, but to preface every anti-Cruz comment with “Lyin’ Ted” not only damages someone you would like to support you (if/when he gets out of the race), it damages any good feelings those who supported that candidate had towards your guy to possibly vote for him–and at the end of the day, that is something that your candidate will desperately need (unless he thinks that Reagan Democrats will ride to his rescue).

As I said earlier, if the election were today, #NEVER TRUMP would be my feeling, and at the end of the day, it was his big NY mouth that made that happen for me–and I’ve lived in NY for 59 of my 62 years,so I’m all too familiar with it.

  15. #NeverTrump in a miliion years- because he’s an unhinged, dishonest, popcorn fart of a human being and FAR from a conservative. Yes, I know, he HAD to give all that money and support to the worst of the worst progressive statists because… business. Cruz or I sit it out and prep the bunker.

  16. Shy of voting for the devil himself, I will vote for whoever is elected, selected or protected before I vote for Hillary or sit out an election. The supreme court nominees she will pick will destroy this nation and our freedoms.

  17. Im voting for Trump in the primary. And guess what, the nominee was always chosen before it ever got to Indiana’s votes. But this year we’re going count for a change! But if Cruz is nominated Im backing him 100%.

Now my reoccurring nighmare is Hillary wins the presidency. Then two days after the elections Obama has her arrested and jailed. He crowns himself king. This is why Hillary cant win and everyone needs to vote for anyone running against her.

Wow I need to stay upwind of that Lorsban.

  18. I will vote for the republican nominee. It is a case of survival. In a true life and death situation if you can keep your mind clear and understand the consequences of your actions you will turn in the direction that will most likely lead to your survival. Not 100% certainty of survival. Just a greater chance for survival. Anything else is defeatism. Pre-programmed failure.

  19. If the GOPe finds a way to insert someone they choose, rather than Trump if Trump wins the nomination fair and square, and Trump goes 3rd party – I will vote for Trump.

  20. Donald J. Trump has a certain attitude about America – it’s his Ameritude. This native New Yorker loves the country and is doing what he feels he must to Make America Great Again; he is giving up his luxurious life and extremely prosperous company to vigorously campaign to earn the vote of the American people to save his beloved USA from its decline and the world-wide loss of respect we are experiencing.
    .
The Donald’s campaign for president is unprecedented. He is brilliant, fearless, plain-spoken, compelling to watch, remarkably successful in a wide variety of fields (developing real estate globally, operating hotels, sports, entertainment, pageants and various other business entities here and around the world, authoring best-selling books, as well as having a top-rated television show) and, as a result of it all, Trump is incredibly wealthy – yet he seems to be a blue-collar billionaire. He is the living embodiment of one of the larger-than-life characters from Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged.
    .
Trump is a political force unto himself. He is funding his own campaign, so he owes nothing to anyone; he has no campaign strategists, speechwriters, pollsters, or teleprompters, and he speaks extemporaneously to larger crowds than any other candidate has ever drawn. There has never been a contender for president with such a resume. Like him or not, Trump’s candidacy is phenomenal.
    .
Trump’s supporters are solidly behind him. He jokingly said that he could shoot people on 5th Avenue and not lose followers. In fact, DJT could admit to having killed Jimmy Hoffa using John Gotti’s gun and he’d still gain support!
    .
No candidate is perfect. Dole, Bush (either one), McCain, Romney: none was a true conservative. Why demand it of a candidate now? Give Trump a chance; he’s a better choice to disrupt the establishment than Hillary.
    .
PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE TO NOT VOTE!
    Make America Great Again!

  21. I’ll vote for either one. Trump is my first pick, my “F.U.” vote, and he shows what a fighter he is. We can finally get all those libtard celebrities to move out of the country if he wins. If they don’t, delight in their living hell!

  22. Wow a whole lot of cutting off your nose here especially from the expected, govlawyer, who is apparently still searching for a clue as to what happens with Hillary or Sanders.

And don’t give me your horseshit about there’d be no difference because Trump blahblahfuckignblah. In fact just STFU, I won’t bother reading any of your bullshit.

When Rubio was still in it, I said I’d vote for him. If Kasich somehow finagles the nod, I’ll vote for him. If Paul Ryan steals the nomination, I’ll vote for him. Even Jeb!

    #neveraREgressive

  23. #NeverTrump. The guy just doesn’t cut it for me. He isn’t smart enough. Doesn’t know anything about the Constitution and he was a registered Dem not too long ago. He is the epitome of everything that is wrong with DC.

  24. Sorta like arguing with the waiter about the fillet of sole while the Titanic sinks, ain’t it?

    Maitre d’!
    Maitre d’!

My fish seems to have slid off my plate!

    Sacre bleu!

    izlamo delenda est …

  25. #NeverCruz. I am sick and tired of the GOPe and the Democrats (in other words the globalist unitparty). Cruz is 100% establishment will only cosmetically be different than the rapist’s wife. Nothing will change that really matters. If Trump doesn’t get the nomination he has earned and deserves then I’m voting for the Libertarian.

  26. Looking for the #neverhillary option…I think this whole FU vote is going to have us a Trump President and Cruz Vice.
Now I need to go hide under the stairs for my own protection. Feel free to stop by with pizza or cake…either one is good. thank you.

  27. If there is a brokered convention, and the primary results are close, Trump or Ted will do. BUT if Trump is way ahead, and GOP schlongs Trump, (as they are trying to do) I want to say all bets are off, because if the leading vote getter is denied the nomination, if the peoples choice has been cast out in favor of another, then confidence in the system will be irreparably destroyed. If Ted gets the nod at a brokered convention where Trump is the obvious winner, millions of voters will be told that their vote didnt count. The republican nominee will not be the result of voters in a primary, but the choice of Karl Rove and Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan and delegates living in their ivory towers. So, it wont matter who is running against whom at that point. If that happens, i will cast my final vote. And just to keep peace in the family, it would be for . . .ted, i guess.

I pray for our country, because it is severely broken.

  28. Simple. If my choice is between voting for the Democrat, which is definitely going to be a socialist or communist, or voting for Trump, a possible RINO, but definite liar, or Cruz than my order of votes would be; Cruz, Trump, and write-in.

I will not vote for a Democrat since that is a guarantee of getting a socialist/communist.

Also, forget the notion that Trump isn’t peddling influence, already happening with promises from his staff of what Trump will do for certain folks once elected. Plus he is already gearing up for fund-raising once the primaries are over. As such his “self-financed” spiel goes bye-bye if he wins the nomination.

So voting for Trump will be very much like voting for McCain or Romney if we end up with him.

  29. I’ll vote for the eventual nominee; unless it’s a GOPe bag-job. Then I don’t vote and prepare my rifle.

If you think we are “voting” our way out of this mess, you are seriously deluded.

The fix is in. The Republic and the rule of law are dead; take due notice thereof and govern yourselves accordingly.

  30. @MM–sorry to see you’re still having trouble with that hemorrhoid transplant. Will they be able to reattach your head to your neck if your body totally rejects the change in position?

  31. I voted in the 1964 election for Goldwater and I have never voted for a dumbocrat. And I never will. Plan to vote for the nominee we elected not the one the PTB want to cram down our throats. Done with holding my nose to vote for the Republican.

  32. Both Cruz and Trump have pluses and minuses in my opinion. I am leaning toward Trump for the FU factor, but am in “wait and see” mode. I still have time before my primary (April 26).
My November vote will either be Trump or Cruz, if either of them is the R nominee. If someone steals it at the convention then all bets are off because that will essentially give the election to the statists. At that point a revolution is preferable.

  33. I may be naive in thinking my vote still counts – however, it is all I have, so I will use it as wisely as I am able. A vote for a third party, or a non-vote is a vote for Hillary. There’s no other way to look at it, and I don’t care what the naysayers say. Your arguments don’t stack up against the practicality of the situation. I will – even if it’s while pinching my nose – vote for the GOP nominee. NO WAY the Butcher of Benghazi Hillary Clinton or Socialist Bernie Sanders gets to be POTUS if I have my say.

  34. I really prefer Reese’s Cups over peanut M&Ms any day…but nothing beats a big glass of Nestle’s Quick with a whole pack of Graham Crackers to dip in it…

  35. At this point in time, I will vote for Cruz or Trump if either is the nominee. If the GOPe tries to sneak someone else in at a brokered convention, all bets are off.

I prefer Cruz because I believe he is the most sincere Conservative running and I believe Trump is a liar, a cheat, and a liberal corporatist who disgusts me almost as much as Obama. Still, I’ve held my nose and voted before (too many times) so I suppose I can do it once more. #NeverHillary.

Lulu, your fan-girl post doesn’t impress or convince. Sorry. It was pretty funny, though.

I notice that several people responding didn’t actually answer the question. So, not sure how valid the poll will be.

  36. Not a big fan of the “F.U. factor” vote. A vote for Trump is more an “F.U. America” rather than the intended “F.U. Establishment” message.

Trump is a con man, a lying sack of excrement with a squirrel stapled to his head. But he has somehow snake-charmed the mouth-breathers of this country (of which there are far too many these days) into believing that the future of America is one big reality TV program.

That being said, #NeverHillary. There can be no other choice.

    Get off my lawn.

  37. Hold on there a bit CowboyHat,

I told you that many here would be too chicken to come out of the #NeverCruz closet because of the MadFurHatter.

    I was not wrong.
If I went back and checked some of these guys previous posts, they weren’t so coy about their #NeverCruz allegiance.
Yet on this thread they couched their hatred in #NeverHillary, thinking it will automatically be Hill v Trump.

In addition, it is only half time for this post yet you are trying to lift the “I was right nanana” trophy.
The refs just hit you for a fifteen yard penalty and threw Bad_Brad out of the game.

  38. Hey Biggie, add me to the #NeverTrump side of the scale. I’m not afraid to be honest about my beliefs and feelings (this is the internets).

@Loco, you have to remember, people like ASK that have radio shows proving “lyin’ Ted is ineligible to be POTUS are not in Biggies #NeverCruz camp because she says she will vote for him even though he can’t be president. She dedicates half her waking time denigrating Ted, but says she’ll vote for him over hilliary. How much you wanna bet she will encourage Trump to go 3rd party should he not win an open convention? How much more #NeverCruz can you get?

And BFH, did you see that Ben S praised Trumps “Mexico will pay for the wall” statement today?

    Hell is freezing over.

  39. OK Fur you win.
    Wait…what’s that?
I’m pulling an AlGore and rescinding my concession.

The following have yet to weigh in:

    Czar of defenestration
    Chiefilinicake
    Plain Jane
    Abigail Adams (didn’t answer)
    Gladys (didn’t answer)
Ted sCruz (gee, I wonder what he will do?)

Those I have forgotten please forgive me and don’t turn in your TedCruz Irrational Venom Card just yet.

If you look at the very first comment, TN Tuxedo summed it up nicely, that this post was possibly a Big Furry IED.

People afraid to put their money where their mouth is.

  40. Though I prefer Cruz, I’ll vote Republican. It’s easy to see this election cycle, regardless of your preference, as yet another election where we’re forced to choose the lesser of two evils. Tell me, please, when was that not the case? Have we not always chosen one man over another? And is not mankind a flawed creation?

Have you ever decided not to buy a car just because none was perfect? A computer? A house? Groceries? Socks?

All of our choices are among the best available, or the lesser of multiple evils. Such has the world always been, unless you live anywhere else on Earth and you have no choice at all.

The most foolish thing I’ve ever heard is, “If Candidate B doesn’t win, I just won’t vote.” That or “If you don’t know, I’m not telling you.” Frankly, I’m not sure either is any different from a 3 year old throwing a tantrum in the grocery store.

In other words, I say to all of us, myself included, that if we do not realize our individually desired outcome in the primaries, we are not freed from our duty during the general election.

I guarantee there will be no safe spaces if Sec. Clinton is elected.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” -Edmund Burke

#NeverTheOtherGuy is precisely that. Vote your conscious in the primary. Vote rationally in the general.

  41. Loco, those names you mentioned in your last post all work for a living. As do I. After working a 12 hour day I dial up this shit and you’ve been non stop since the sun rose and you dawned your felt lined thong to wonder about the old folks home and make all the old ladies hot. You are either idependantly wealthy or add nothing to the economy. But yet you feel free to comment on policy that either doesn’t effect you or that you don’t understand. That goes for a lot of you. I particularly enjoy the brain surgeon that accused Trump of being the Ultimate Washington Insider. Hopefully they wheeled that idiot back in the rubber room as soon as they saw what he typed. If you don’t employ people, listen to those that do. If your retired please quit killing the rest of us. Cruz is a piece of shit for more reasons then I can list here. Having said that if he’s the last guy standing you bet your ass I’ll vote for him. At that point he’s a delaying tactic so I can build my bunker. Attention you Holy Rollers. Quit trying to get your religious absolution from an elected official. That’s some weak shit.

  42. I was for Jindal before I was for Walker before I was for Jindal.

Eventually switched to Cruz during the debate circuit as candidates tapered off before the primary in my state.

Would gladly vote for either Trump or Cruz.

Will reluctantly vote for whomever the Republicants decide needs to lose.

  43. Loco, Wow, dude, you even studder when you write. Fuck off bitch. Like I say, you add nothing to the economy, look to be unemployed but by all means tell the rest of us what you think.

  44. No not mad, but the Paraplegic Cruz fanatics have clearly taken over here. Praise the Lord and pass me money. As a Business owner and Trump supporter I’m out until this is decided. Some of us Trump people communicate.
I’m not the only one. My prediction is Loco kills himself from sleep deprivation. Have fun. I got shit to do.

  45. @Menderman – thanks for pointing out the thumbs up. That was the first thing I noticed, too. So, many of those folks won’t come right out and say it, but they agree with it (#NeverWhoever).
