After 2 prisoners escaped in high profile fashion, making the prison look foolish, NY Governor Cuomo staged a photo-op where he berated a prisoner in an adjoining cell.
Patrick Alexander, 36, says after fellow convicted murderers David Sweat and Richard Matt cut their way out of their cells à la “The Shawshank Redemption” at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, Cuomo visited his nearby cell and taunted and cursed at him during a “photo op.”
Cuomo sarcastically told Alexander the noise from the escape “must have kept you awake with all that cutting,” the lawsuit claims.
“Let me guess, you don’t know f—-ing nothing,” the governor told him and gave him “a tough guy look,” the lawsuit claims.
Alexander claims he knew nothing about the escape.
“A few hours later, Alexander was brutally interrogated, beaten and suffocated by correction officers concerned and angered that their own incompetence and corruption might be exposed,” according to the lawsuit, which was obtained by The News.
“Just hours after Gov. Cuomo had finished his show and the cameras were gone, an evening of guard-inflicted medieval barbarism ensued.
“We feel that Cuomo indirectly green-lighted correction officers to abuse and assault inmates in order to quickly identify the location of the escapees,” Alexander’s lawyer Leo Glickman said Thursday.
“This is simply baseless and bizarre,” said Cuomo spokesman Richard Azzopardi.
I believe the inmate. I think he did create the climate that gave the okay to these guards to torture the prisoner for information- something I’m sure Cuomosexual condemns when it comes to terrorist detainees.

The next-cell inmate was in a lose-lose situation. He chose, rationally I might add, to be subjected to prison guard abuse rather than face the other inmates after they found out he ratted on his escaped neighbors.

I work in a Texas prison. I very seriously doubt that any torture actually occurred…there are cameras everywhere and it just couldn’t happen here. I doubt New York is much different.
And inmates are extremely likely to make things up if there’s even a slight chance of getting something for it.
I’m saying bs on the inmate’s claim, though I don’t have any problem believing homo was talking shit and playing the fool.
It’s interesting that the NY Daily News reported on this. From what I’ve read on their site they are water carriers for the left and would have buried this story. Maybe the chance to malign the prison guards outweighed the spotlighting of Cuomo acting the tough guy for the voters by badmouthing a guy in a locked in a cage.
