Progressives and Conservatives team up to call on Congress not to reauthorize FISA

JTN: House progressives and conservatives are teaming up to call on Congress not to reauthorize the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which expires in one month, by tying it to the defense spending bill.

Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Warren Davidson (R-Ohio), Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), and Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), former chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, sent a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday that was signed by more than 50 lawmakers from both parties.

The group of lawmakers support reforming FISA as a standalone bill that would end warrantless surveillance under section 702.  more

  1. Congress should never have been allowed to infringe upon our Constitutional right to privacy to begin with !!
Congress created the weaponized FBI, CIA, NSA, ATF and other agencies.

When the last time congress fixed a poor bill they created ??

NO REFORM, Kill the FISA reauthorization, period.
I do not trust Congress to reform or repair what they screwed up the first time.

  3. FISA is a Constitutional abortion.
The fact that the SUPREMEs didn’t strike it down is absolute proof (if any more was needed) that the Court is infested with either traitors, or illiterates.
And the further fact that the FBI lied to the FISA Court (overseen by Roberts) with complete immunity should be proof that the Constitution is dead – as far as the Supremes are concerned.

Not a peep of outrage by any of those nine assholes.
Not a single resignation in outrage by DOJ and/or FBI maggots.
    The dogs that didn’t bark.
