from a bill whittle firewall episode I learned that hip hop rhyming is a cultural appropriation from whitey…in particular a guy named Skelton born in England in the 1400’s. it’s called skeltonic verse.
He later morphed this into the more lyrical styles you see later in songs like ‘Dynamo Humm’ and ‘Dumb all over’

The more accurate term for rapper would be “Curse Rhymer”.
I thought they just sat on a toilet bowl and farted rhythmically.
There is no melody in rapcrap.
Even the One-Note Samba has more melody, harmony and variety.
