I always liked George Segal.
The Owl and the Pussycat is very funny, despite Barbra Streisdand’s presence.
This scene always cracked me up-
And if you’ve never seen The Hot Rock, do yourself a favor and check it out.

RIP George.
“The Bridge At Remagen” is a lesser known WWII movie that he starred in–pretty damn good movie, awesome explosions.
I PLAY BLUEGRASS BANJO (5 STRING)..GEORGE WAS A GREAT TENOR (4 STRING BANJO) PLAYER..I USED TO GO TO BEVERLY HILLS (WHERE I DIDN’T BELONG) TO LISTEN TO GEORGE SND HIS BAND PLAY AT A SMALL PLACE, GOOD FOR BEERS AND BABES..HIS BAND WAS MADE UP OF GOOD HOLLYWOOD TYPES WHO WERE ALSO GREAT MUSICIANS..GOOD TIMES, GOOD PEOPLE!!
I LIKED GEORGE IN THE HOT ROCK, NOT A GREATLY POPULAR MOVIE, WHERE HE AND ROBERT REDFORD WENR THRU HELL TRYING TO STEAL (AND RE-STEAL A GIANT DIAMOND)…GREAT FUN!!
I THINK THE PLACE THAT GEORGE AND COMPANY PLAYED IN BEVERLY HILLS WAS CALLED THE GINGER MAN..I MISS THOSE TIMES!!
RIP GEORGE
I never went to see a movie because a certain actor was in it… except for George Segal. If he was in the movie I went to see it. Rest in peace, George Segal.
OMG!! Love George Segal. ‘Where’s Popa’ was one of my faves. RIP.
Poppa… damn typing too fast.
OH..”WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?”
SEE IT!! GEORGE AND SANDY DENNIS WERE FANTASTIC!!

King Rat, Ship of Fools, Loving, Blume in Love, The Southern Star, A Touch of Class, No Way to Treat a Lady, Russian Roulette, California Split, and Whereโs Poppa were all good George Segal movies. He had a certain cynical presence in movies during the 1960s and 1970s playing roles that no other actor could have done better. When he wasnโt acting in comedies, George Segal was great at playing men dealing with problems they created themselves. The Bridge at Remagen is one of the best WWII movies ever made. He was also in The Longest Day.
I think he was in a TV production of Death of a Salesman back around ’66 or ’67. He played Buff Loman.
Liked him in The Duchess and the Dirtwater Fox and the sitcom Just Shoot Me, he was a good character actor, Thoughts and Prayers to your family George. ๐๏ธโค๏ธ๐
๐ not ๐ Sorry George ๐ฟ
I always liked him. He seemed like a good guy. Heโs recently played โPopsโ on โThe Goldbergsโ and in the last few episodes we didnโt think he looked very well.
๐ข RIP George.
I can’t believe no one mentioned The Quiller Memorandum, one of the best spy/Nazi conspiracy movies ever made.
P.S.- FWIW, I was in love with Senta Berger for quite some time after seeing this film. Rowrrr!
๐
I remember the time he said he was working on a compilation of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf” and Stop the World I Want to Get Off”. They were going to call it: “Stop Virginia Wolf I Want to Get Off!”
RIP Sir!
๐ฅ
“The Blackbird” Maltese Falcon Spoof…Hilarious.
King Rat and (I think a TV version) “Of Mice and Men” were outstanding.
RIP
Enjoyed his work.
He was one of the Rangers at Pointe du Hoc in The Longest Day.
$2 to see a movie? Wow, those days are long gone…
$2 to see a good movie. You can’t do that now for any amount.
RIP George ): Loved him in “The Last Married Couple in America” with Natalie Wood.
The Terminal Man!
The Hot Rock is one of the all time favorites among the iOTWreport founders. If you havenโt seen it you should.
George Segal was great. RIP.
“Wind Across the Everglades” with Burl Ives and Gypsy Rose Lee.
RIP George Segal. All the real actors are dying off.
