64 years in the booth.
And every bit listenable and enjoyable.
For many years – decades – his was the one game a week.
It would’ve been a great honor to have him call your touchdown.
RIP
Crappy day. Lose my oldest sister and a voice from younger days.
O Nelly ! Was his classic touchdown yell . Class act
One of the best, his commentary was the best in college football hands down. Even if what a game between 2 teams I had no interest in, he would make it interesting. Even the old USFL games, I think he did a game or 2 of that league too if I recall right.
RIP Keith.
Keith was the best! RIP Mr Jackson. I also loved …”Fuuuumble!!!” They don’t make ’em like that any more.
There’s a man who loved his job.
RIP Sir! I enjoyed many hours of your work back when football was fun.
Jackson’s one-man crusade to prove a defensive back could win the Heisman kept it away from one of the best players ever to play the game.
But I don’t recall him ever lecturing anyone about politics, so there’s that.
Not just football; I remember him well from ABC Wide World of Sports back in the 60s. RIP Keith.
F4UCorsair- Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear that!
F4UCorsair, I’m sorry for the loss of your sister.
He was a Washington State alumni. I loved it when he would broadcast games from WSU, introducing it as the frozen tundra of the Palouse. Only Washingtonians knew what he was talking about. RIP Mr Jackson.
