Best video memory – charging the mound at the end of Don Larsen’s perfect game.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
AP did that? I thought it was just the local Indiana paper…
Note the “NEW YORK (AP)” on the byline.
People don’t go there any more, it’s too crowded. RIP Yogi
Mine was Yogi’s immediate-in-the-ump’s face (Shag Crawford? Augie Donatelli?) when he called Robinson safe on the steal of home.
Robinson was out – slid right into Yogi’s tag. Look at the film.
My latest fav catcher/ump exchange is when A.J. Pierzynski asked the ump (who had a strike zone the size of the Polo Grounds) for “a ball you can see.”
I guess it’s over.
New Celebrity Dead Pool Starts Friday.
He outlived Hanna and Barbera. But Yogi Bear and BooBoo live on.
When asked where he wanted to be buried by his wife.
He said ‘surprise me’

He was a class act on and off the field, arguably one of the best all time catchers. Rest in Peace.
RIP
“Nobody goes there, anymore, it’s too crowded.”
“In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.”
Yogi Berra
AND – there IS a difference. Thnx for the memories, the laughs and the philosophy. He was a great catcher & a great hitter.
RIP, Yog.
One of the few people that made Steinbrenner come to him.
One helluva Yankee!
That quote page missed one of my favorites. When asked, “What time is it?” Yogi answered, “Do you mean right now?”
“When you come to a fork in the road, take it.”
He had a hell of a run.
Now he can play on the field of dreams team.
RIP, Yogi.
I believe you’re thinking of Bob Hope.

I always took the fork less traveled – Yogi as Robert Frost.
Berra/Frost? There’s a dichotomy we don’t hear very often.
“Always go to other people’s funerals, otherwise they won’t come to yours.”
🙂
I can imagine Yogi’s last words – “Jackie Robinson is still out on that steal of home.”
One of a kind. Baseball’s “Greatest Generation”.
Some people you’re glad to be rid of, others will be missed. We’ll miss you Yogi.
Uh-oh. Looks like the Associated Press
made a Boo-Boo:

Flags are at half mast on The Hill in St Louis.

Yeah – he got an early shower.
