A year after its last launch, Russia’s newest rocket lifted off again — and things didn’t go entirely according to plan.

The third test flight of the Angara A5 rocket took off from Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northwestern Russia on Monday (Dec. 27). The launcher reached low Earth orbit but was unable to go higher as planned due to an engine failure in its upper-stage  Persei booster, according to media reports. More

The rocket is in a decaying orbit and is expected to come crashing back down to earth in an uncontrolled reentry. Here

  1. No problem. Just launch that Russian rocket that can bump our satellites out of orbit to bump their Angara A5 rocket out of harms way and into the Atlantic or Pacific. Piece of cake, the Ruskies are so advanced, don’t you know.

  2. What Russia lacks in finesse, they make up in bulk.

Don’t underestimate them. And don’t overestimate the Russian people as an adversary. We have more Americans threatening our freedom than Russians.
