Snopes are Dopes

They’re fact-checking a satire site-

  1. In my experience, Snopes “fact checks” (i.e. – publishes an answer for) many items that it knows are satire simply because they realize that a lot of people won’t know if it is true or not and will go to Snopes looking for an answer. Often the “fact-checking” is extremely humorous and tongue-in-cheek, as this example is.

    🙂

  2. Just because Snopes debunked this story does not mean it isn’t true!

The machine was bought used from the Clinton Foundation. It was used for laundering money and spinning email explanations.

  3. Seems like they under estimate the ability of most people to know satire. I guess its a compliment on the viral value of your work if Snopes has to debunk it.

  4. @Dr. Tar: In my experience it is impossible to underestimate that ability, or their level of intelligence and/or immaturity. If you doubt this, just take a look at the current offerings of network TV and Hollywood movies. I’m sure I don’t even have to go into the subject of the mainstream media here, either.

  5. I remember way back when Ann Landers was plagued by smartass pranksters who sent her joke letters to see if she’d publish them. It was a running battle with the “Yalies” for years. Every now and then, one of them was subtle enough to get by her. I read her column daily just to see if she got pranked. It took me awhile to figure out she was publishing the occasional prankster for the benefit of people like me. She didn’t have that column for years just because she was a nice old lady.

  6. Mr. and Mrs. Snopes, plus the obese ex-Mrs. Snopes, are certainly an interesting trio — which doesn’t bother me. I dislike their left wing bent and cover-ups…. search for Clinton Foundation or Uranium One for examples of the extent to which they will not report truth.

But, the original Babylon Bee satire is wonderful! Big Fur should have printed it all:

“ATLANTA, GA—In order to aid the news station in preparing stories for consumption, popular news media organization CNN purchased an industrial-sized washing machine to help its journalists and news anchors spin the news before publication.

“The custom-made device allows CNN reporters to load just the facts of a given issue, turn a dial to “spin cycle,” and within five minutes, receive a nearly unrecognizable version of the story that’s been spun to fit with the news station’s agenda.

“One reporter was seen inserting the facts of a recent news story early Thursday morning.

“’Okay, so we just slip in the location, the people involved, the facts of the story, and there we go,’” he muttered as he fiddled with the buttons and dials on the machine. “Spin for five minutes on high, and we’ll have ourselves a news story.”

“Minutes later, he removed the story and found it had turned into a perfect piece to push universal health care, common-sense gun control, and the removal of President Trump from office.

“’Perfect!’ he said, taking the story straight to his computer in order to upload it to CNN’s website.

“At publishing time, CNN had also purchased an industrial-sized trash compactor in order to help compress and distort facts to fit into its preconceived narrative.” …..Lady in Red

  7. I hope none of my relatives read this; or do not figure out who I am.

    DIANNY

    Right!

I went there maybe 3 times years ago. If you use them you are either dumb (some of my kin)_ or far left (again my kin).
Most of my kin know snoops if hyper progressive; therefore not honest.
PS I did not now Soros was their sponsor; but the few times I was there it fit in with his lies.
