Back in the olden days of the Internet, when social media (nobody had invented that term yet) consisted solely of Usenet, as there was as yet no Web, we would have Flame Wars. We would make our own fun and entertainment by abusing each other verbally over trivialities or for no reason at all.
Then with the Web came countless throngs of ignorant and uncultured Noobs. They thought our flame wars were real, they were so benighted. Alas, they simply outnumbered and outshouted us True Geeks, leaving us with today’s Great Digital Unwashed’s stench so great it is nigh on impossible to find fellow men and women of good cheer and a common respect and respectability.
