That first issue. We have ~7 Billion people on the planet today. The non-productive are out breeding those who produce food and energy at a prodigious rate. Pure math says this will have a particular outcome. Along the lines of a lifeboat rated for fifty with an occupation of five hundred.
All this needs is time.
