Jared had a flash drive hidden in his house. Cops missed it. Bear, the labrador, didn’t. It contained the evidence that busted Jared.

  1. I wonder what a flash drive smells like? I have 1000’s of ‘chips’ in my house. I build and design electronic sub assemblies for various electronic components.
    I think the dog would OD here.

  2. I need that dog to find my car key. It’s somewhere in the house, been looking for about 6 years. Unfortunately I also collect used computer hardware from flash drives, hard drives, chips, and things that are unknown. When the pile gets out of control the gold gets stripped off and the rest recycled. I’ve never bothered to look at someone else’s data and always feared it would some day get me in a heap of trouble… So for all you sickos out there: knock it off! (Not that I would admit guilt, but given our legal system and lawyers I have no clue what is the best road to take in any particular legal matter)

  6. I used to do IT work full time now it’s just a side business.

    We were told a couple things by LEO or other officials.

    1) if we find pr0n on the PC of a public employee, tell their supervisor. The taxpayers don’t need to be paying them to do that.

    2) Kiddie Pr0n – report it to a LEO. Sheriff, Police, whatever. Privacy is Privacy, sure, but KP is KP and that gets reported. That dusty old box on the work bench just became a crime scene.

    Anything else? Mums the word. You didn’t see it, you don’t care.

    I will freely admit that it is usually impossible to NOT see what is on people’s computers.

    You have to get their data off the PC and back it up before you reinstall the OS. In order to GET the data you will most of the time SEE what it is. The data doesn’t move itself, people.

    One memorable occasion was a particularly HAWT young secretary of a local judge – she not only had nudes on her court house PC they were of herself and her boyfriend. I didn’t see it, the guy I was working with at the time did.

    Honest!
