  1. A guy back in the DC-MD-VA area was known as the “Bob Cat Man” cuz he stole and sold Bob Cat equipment. He was renowned for his audacity and inventiveness. Quite a lucrative business.

As long as a pissed “supplier” doesn’t kill you!

    izlamo delenda est …

  2. There is a law in Texas that you can kill people that need killin’

    “What ya kill him fer?”

    “He needed killin”

“Well don’t be killin’ folks what don’t be gettin’ killed”

    Yes sir…

  3. Something needs to be done. BIG government can solve this, if the money is right.
Maybe Speaker Ryan can have Kubota and the construction equipment association pony up major contributions and have them write a new bill. He can give it a snappy acronym, like:
Security of Under Construction Kubotas. (SUCK)

  4. I had a stolen lawn mower repappear once they realized it was me it was stolen from and what I might do.

The good kid: I know where it is and who took it.

Me: let him know if I don’t get it back i’ll be handling this myself.

Next day it’s on my front patio.

Note: This only works if you have already established a no-shit reputation in the neighborhood.

IMO, Not Texas specific, though. Anybody can do this.

  5. BFH – I can’t find any mention of this after a quick web search. Is this a more-or-less current event? If so, I’ll ask my Magnolia TX lawyer bro-in-law to let me know if there are any interesting events not reported in the media.

  6. Bob Cat theft is very common in the construction trade. No title required in some states, easy to hot-wire. Most larger contractors write-off the loss and/or file a claim with their insurance company. Just one more reason construction is so expensive.

  7. It is on its way to mexico probably…I lived there and every town for miles had stolen school busses, mail delivery trucks, ambulances etc with the original paint still on..

  8. Damn – I saw that picture a while back with no story and I honestly thought that the guy was a rancher and a Kubota Skid Steer was some weird breed of Japanese cattle, maybe the kind they get Kobe beef from (although the “skid” part didn’t make a whole lot of sense).

You can tell I haven’t been around a lot of construction equipment.

    🙂
