Former Fox News Channel host and long time [sic] political operative Bob Beckel has died at the age of 73. So far, his cause of death is not specified. The passing of the man who ran Walter Mondale’s unsuccessful 1984 Presidential campaign was revealed by old friend Cal Thomas on social media Monday evening. I’ve never understood the concept of “The Five”. Was it to have some dopey brain-dead lib say something insane so that the other 4 normal people could laugh at him? I would prefer to have 5 right-leaning people on the show and let them chop up the issues of the day, there would be enough diversity of opinion to make it interesting.
Beckel was mean, he was always drunk and on most days came to the show unprepared. I was glad he got fired.
