The GOP Is Poised to Eliminate a Half-Dozen Democrats via Redistricting but Mitch McConnell and Party ‘Strategists’ Counsel Caution

Red State

The next election will reflect the results of the 2020 Census. That means a net shift of seats from Democrat-controlled states to those governed by Republicans. As a result, CA, IL, MI, NY, OH, PA, and WV will lose one seat. Winners will be CO, FL, MT, NC, and OR gaining a seat and Texas taking home the grand prize of two new seats.

How this plays out is left up to state legislatures. Republicans control the legislatures in 30 states. In 23 of those, they also control the statehouse. In Kansas and Kentucky, a Democrat governor faces a veto-proof Republican majority in the state legislature. In Democrat-controlled Colorado, redistricting is controlled by a “nonpartisan” commission.

Seven current Democrat congressmen were elected from districts that President Trump carried. Nancy Pelosi is House Speaker by only five votes. More

  1. This Idiot Fucks things up even when thing are accidentally going his way.
All he has to do is shut up but he continues to piss in his own cornflakes.
I hope he looses his seat eventually to a real conservative with a personality and some consistency.

  2. “McCONnell and Party ‘Strategists’ Counsel Caution”, Mitch backs RINOs as does the so-called strategists. Even when the republicans win elections, No balls, Mitch makes sure we lose legislatively.

  3. I imagine what McConnell is worried about is that the blue to red state migration will mean many of these districts won’t be a red as they used to be; so the GOP controlled legislatures there better have a good handle on where all these new democrats are moving to; so the districts get drawn up to prevent them from capturing too many new districts.

I live in a district in TX that was 65% in 2010. Now it’s 51% GOP and 80% of those dumbasses won’t vote while all the new democrats are voting. They took over my town.
