The Word “Confederate” In “Confederate Railroad” Deemed Insensitive

Townhall

It seems that the Confederate Railroad has been booted from an upcoming appearance at the DuQuoin [SIC] State Fair Grandstand. The band’s August 27th performance was canceled over racial sensitivity concerns, the Pinckneyville Press reports. To be more specific — somebody was triggered by the band’s name. And to be even more specific, they were triggered by the word “Confederate.” More

For those planning on heading to Du Quoin, Illinois for the fair in August, the organizers did manage to book “The All-American Rejects.” More

  1. Since these nogheads seem to keep getting their way, I’ say that, de facto, they’re the ones in charge of us.

How long are we gonna let them keep doing this to us?

  2. The problem is that the governing authorities are either complicit or too nice. Without pushback they will walk all over you.
The scout troop I have been with since my youth is in the heart of liberaltown USA. It has a great history, and as a conservative I am pretty pleased at the level of leadership and initiative that are expected of the scouts. But we are constantly under attack by new parents with liberal agendas. It is only because of the backbone of those who understand and appreciate the values of this particular organization that we continue to have a good program. And so it is with any organization, or school, or town.

  3. They are not crackpots. They are fascists trying to seize power on our country, then loot it.

If we’re dumb enough or too lazy to not to indulge them, we deserve their enslavement.

  4. The Left’s fear of ideas and words is stunning. Their ideas are so bankrupt and deficient the only way they can win is to silence and banish others.

  6. Awww, Bayouwulf, I missed the dust-up. Did you get pig-piled? That happens here some times (I’ve been a recipient, too).

Anyone who was mean to my Bayouwulf, you better watch yourselves!

  7. So how soon will they ban any reference to the South or to rebels (except for Antifa of course since they’re rebellious but a protected class of rebel) or to midwestern or flyover country and only include references to their protected classes of elitist assholes and snobs found mostly on both coasts and in liberal shitholes like Shitcongo and Detroilet etc. Why isn’t the left also considered a confederacy since they’re united in a purpose, alliance and conspiracy against those whom they disagree with which is most of America?

  8. Trashy Women is a great song. And for introspection, their Jesus and Mama will make you cry. Confederate Railroad is an awesome band and it’s their loss.

  9. Quite a few years ago, the Confederate Air Force changed its name to the Commemorative Air Force after the SJWs whined and complained, threatened, boycotted, etc. Probably the wise thing to do, since the SJW assholes are increasingly violent and destructive.

  10. FFS… the word “confederate” has a meaning fully independent of the old “Confederate States of America”, but I wouldn’t expect some lefty fucktard to be that intellectually nimble.

  11. @TheMule, was just thinking that myself. It’s utilized quite a bit in educational and sociological studies and research, which is a bit funny, considering where lots of this bullshit comes from.
