This is the feel good splat of the month

Typical New Yorker-

“What hurts?

His hip?

What were you doing?”

(I love how all his spray paint cans burst, and ran like blood into the gutter.)

  1. I’d like to see just one of these goofs live their life one day without things made from oil. The injured goof sure didn’t protest oil when the oil burning amberlamps came and scraped him off the sidewalk.

Get rid of oil because it makes your life immeasurably better.
Get rid of Trump for the same reason.

Because these goofs wanna live in a shithole all the rest of us are being forced to do the same.

  2. None of these doofuses realize that they are just being played for the useful idiots that they are. I’m glad that I live in the middle of nowhere. I’m afraid I might have started shooting by now if I had to deal with these tools in real life.

  3. …this is why I’ll be a shitty warrior when it goes kinetic.

I hate to see people get hurt.

    Even when they deserve it.

Were I there, I might have gave him an earful about how it happened, but I would try to stabilize him and get him to a hospital if it was bad enough. Depending on what he landed on and what was in his pockets and backpack and how he landed, could be broken ribs, flail chest, penetrating chest trauma, collapsed lungs, tension pneumo/hemothorax, cardiac tamponade…all immediately life threatening, and that’s BEFORE you get to orthopedic injuries, some of which can ALSO be fatal.

…I just can’t let someone suffer, even if it’s because they were stupid. I suffered from stupid before when I was young, too.

It’s a weakness for war, but it’s how God made me.

It’s a useful thing in times of peace.

But could EASILY get me and mine killed in a war.

…war is a different mindset. I can recognize this weakness and work on overcoming it.

Everyone else should be taking mental inventory as well.

    Because it’s coming.

    …very, very soon…

  4. And he learned that it’s not the fall that hurts, it’s the sudden stop at the end. Now their will be mandated disclaimers on buildings that climbing them can lead to death…or worse.

  5. That was so much fun, I stepped through the good parts frame by frame TWICE!

It’s hard to tell exactly when his motion transitioned through loss of grip and control and became purely due to gravitational attraction¹ but to me it looked like he fell for just about one second before he bounced off the sidewalk. At 32 ft/sec/sec that means he fell about 16 feet and landed mostly on his right hip. The way the EMTs had him strapped down with his legs in the same position he was in after the SPLAT, I’m assuming that they’re assuming fractured pelvis. But I’m sure not an expert.

    1. Given that the force of gravity on a body is proportional to the product of the two masses, it’s too bad for the wacko that he was wearing a heavy backpack because the rest of him definitely falls (!) into the “lightweight” category, especially his head. Without that backpack, he might have simply floated down like a feather (depending on the Reynolds Number of a heavily laden swallow anarchist).

  6. If my numbers are more-or-less correct, he was traveling just over 20 miles/hour when he came to that VERY sudden stop. It may not sound like much but that can cause a fair amount of damage. Seriously, it’s good for him he didn’t whack his head on the pavement or he’d likely be dead.

“If my numbers are more-or-less correct, he was traveling just over 20 miles/hour when he came to that VERY sudden stop. ”

…fun fact: even at relatively low speeds, because male anatomy places the bladder in a less advantageous position and because male bladders tend to hold and have higher fluid volumes, it is possible for the bladder to bruise, tear, or detach. This can result in clotting, inability to urinate or pain in urination, and if the damage allows leakage into the abdomen, a wicked case of peritonitis…

    https://www.urologyhealth.org/urology-a-z/b/bladder-trauma

…the formula Force (N) = mass (kg) × acceleration (m/s²) is in play here, since you’re a numbers guy. The fuller the bladder, the greater the mass.

    …so, if he’s just drunk a 32 oz. Big Gulp, using this calculator;

    https://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/physics/force.php

…he’s got a couple of foot-pounds pulling his bladder over the top of his pelvis, since fullness makes it protrude above it, which promotes tearing.

…just one of the sequela the kids don’t think about until they’re strapped to a hospital bed after having a Penrose drain installed to let them effectively pee out of their side…

“They send a firetruck, to help a moron?! 🤨”

…duty is duty. Those guys took an oath that doesn’t allow for personal or political opinions.

…and even if not, whether we love him or not, God does.

And lying in a hospital bed for a month with tubes in various uncomfortable places and the shadow of Death grinning at him from the midnight shadows and drug-induced hallucinations may indeed give him a come-to-Jesus moment and make him actually the better for it.

It’s not likely, but it’s God’s choice to make, not man’s.

Our duty is simply to give God time to convict.

After all, all the wise old men here started out as stupid young men.

You ever do anything stupid as a young man, something that should have got you killed, for a dumb reason that typically revolved around impressing girls?

…you don’t have to tell ME. I think we all know the answer…

…but a merciful God lets you not only survive, but LEARN.

Then, you can grow up to quit being stupid and serve Him instead.

    It may take a Miracle…

…but He’s in the miracle biz.

…and I wouldn’t want to be the one who violates my oath to Him to thwart His will because I think I know better than Him…

“When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.”
    Ezekiel 3:18

    …he kills himself, fine.

…but if I don’t preserve him long enough to warn him of the error of his ways, his bill to the Lord becomes MY bill…

    …see, I’d be a crappy warrior.

…but I have to heed His spirit no matter what.

…and this is what He sends me…

  9. …just remember this going into Easter, the day we celebrate His resurrection from the death He died to save us UNWORTHY all…

“Jesus said unto them, “Did ye never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner. This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?”
    Matthew 21:42

…our Lord can work with the weakest clay and the most broken of vessels to serve His purposes. He offers His mercy and salvation even to the worst sinners.

    I’m living proof.

    He saved ME…

  10. Just a thought. He probably would have made it with just a ball of twine. Lower one end of twine to which a f(r)iend attaches a rope with the other rope end attached to his precious backpack. He probably couldn’t trust any of the other douchebags to not run off with his stuff.

    3
  11. As Al pointed out, that backpack has a separate mass. While it did change his center of gravity, thus swinging his body past the point at which his wrists could bend and support his body weight, the backpack kept him level and probably kept him from smashing his head on the pavement.

I’d like to see more positive press for the backpack.

“BACKPACK SAVES PROTESTER FROM CERTAIN DEATH!!!” would sell a lot of newspapers.

  12. Oh, to be a dude in a black hoodie robe, wearing a skull mask, carrying a scythe, standing in a dark corner of this idjit’s hospital room, softly chuckling when ever he’s awake.

Not me. I could step over that subhuman piece of shit for weeks while going to get my mail and would not lift a finger to help in any way and would leave him laying there to die of thirst, starve or freeze to death.

  14. Charge him for Stunting, then Trespass, and then bill him for the emergency services. Get it up to $50,000 bucks. That should help.

  15. “…I just can’t let someone suffer, even if it’s because they were stupid. I suffered from stupid before when I was young, too.”

There are light years distance between stupid and a dedicated follower of a wicked and evil political philosophy or worldview. I would not lift a finger to help one of Satan’s proud soldiers in any way. To do so is to be responsible for them continuing in their mission of spreading suffering, misery and death in innocent human beings.

    9
  16. Defund this, defund that. First thing you hear is,”call the police”. Moron. Taxpayers have to pay for this piece of crap? Charge him. And community service while being managed. He won’t be sleeping in mommy and daddy’s basement for awhile

    5
  17. I don’t like to see people suffer either, but I would have been the one kneeling beside him, holding his hand, and saying softly, “You’re a dumbass”.

“I would not lift a finger to help one of Satan’s proud soldiers in any way. To do so is to be responsible for them continuing in their mission of spreading suffering, misery and death in innocent human beings.”

    …perhaps.

Or, they could go on to be one of the apostles of the Lord.

Saul persecuted the followers of Christ and was on a mission to have them killed when the Lord knocked him off his high horse and blinded him to force him to look within to see himself and his Lord better.

“1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them”
    Acts 9:1-2

The Lord sent Ananias to restore his sight as the Lord commanded until his vision returned.

    Annanias didn’t WANT to,
    …but he DID.

“10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.

11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”

    But Saul didn’t return.

Paul emerged and went on to write Gospels for the Lord.

…and that’s how our Lord rolls.

You MAY be right. This young man MAY be filth his whole worthless life.

But he may also turn to be the staunchest of the warriors of the Lord.

    Who knows?

    I don’t know.

    Neither do you.

    Only God knows…

    3
  19. …and don’t forget that Matthew was a tax collector who the apostles were appalled that Jesus called. In fact, they questioned ALL the foul folk that Jesus hung out with.

    But Jesus said;

“9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.

10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
    Matthew 9:9-13

…and THAT man went on to write the first Book of the New Testament. Pretty amazing transformation, nicht wahr?

The Lord works in mysterious ways. A fallen enemy is no longer a threat. Our Lord is great enough to turn ANY into an asset.

    Happy Easter.

    God Bless,

  20. 50% of falls over 11 feet are fatal.
    That’s one lucky imbecile.

I sincerely hope he tries again when discharged from the hospital.

…but believe me, I know where you’re coming from. I am always in conflict with what the Lord wants because I have seen evil seemingly triumph too many times too. I have documented before when I had a pedophile the cops roughed up in my ambulance and COULD have ended him, but didn’t. I was NOT a Christian then, but still had faith that the Laws of Men would deal with him properly.

    The more fool I.

…I have many times wished I could have gone back and ended that guy, both for what he did and what he would go on to do. Only death stops pedophiles as O have since learned.

This still causes me great problems in my faith walk with the Lord.

I don’t have a happy ending to that story, or even one I can discuss here. I don’t know where the Lord was in that, or indeed where the Lord is in letting a pedophile rule this very nation.

But that is a test of faith.

The Lord expects us to have faith that He is in there somewhere.

And that is where my struggle lies.

I’m not saying I can’t kill, or that I wouldn’t want to kill, or even that killing isn’t sometimes necessary.

But I am saying the same thing I started this thread with, that considering His will and how He has shaped me may give me a fatal hesitation to do so.

And I know this of myself as a weakness, and suggest only that everyone should take a mental inventory at this point. Wartime thinking is not peacetime thinking.

…and that may become very important very soon…

Thank you for your moral Christian perspective in this thread. We all need to be reminded of who and what we are called to be, even in the face of temptation.
