Tractor Supply is ending an array of corporate diversity and climate efforts, a move coming after weeks of online conservative backlash against the rural retailer.
Tractor Supply said it would be eliminating all of its diversity, equity and inclusion roles while retiring current DEI goals. It did not elaborate on what was entailed in eliminating DEI roles.

Same here. They opened up one in our business park. Me and the wife were there for their grand opening a year ago. They’re making bank off of the acre plus ranchers around here. Including myself. It’s like Christmas every time we visit. We know the GM. He was fighting cooperate tooth and nail on this shit. “They are not our market and you’re going to alienate our market”. He showed me the email. Someone must have copied the right executive on this because they turned it around and should be rewarded for it.
They treat us like the Cabela’s employees used to before that shitbag Bass Pro outfit bought them out. Fact is, although we mostly made our weekly visit to Cabela’s just out of habit my Cabela’s Visa Card was upgraded to Black and that meant we spent $10K annually on ot and I never used it anywhere except Cabela’s. I only had it so I could get points and special offers, once it was a black card how the hell they made any money off me is an enigma. Good lord, between the rebates and invitation only parties and other benefits if you didn’t carry a balance and paid it off every month I figured I got about 30% back.
Truly, the Tractor Supply is the only other retailer we have traded with that we ever made a weekly visit to just to stop in and say hi. At Cabela’s we were buying 90% of our clothing there.

Our Tractor Supply has three flag poles (I think). So to clarify, what set our local GM off was cooperate sent them rainbow flags to fly below the American flag. He refused and fired off that email. We shop Sportsman’s Warehouse exclusively for clothes. Bass Pro moved in down the road and are doing their best to put them out of biz. We love the place. And were not alone.
I’m use to be big into team tournaments. I’m a good stick. To this day. Back in the day when Bass Pro was mail order only they were my go to place. I find them obnoxious now.
I used to call Bass Pro back in the 1970s when they had small ads in the B.A.S.S. magazine and a few times the woman woukd say: Johnny had to go to the post office (or something like that). I’ll tell him you called and he will call you back in a bit. It was a good outfit back then. They still have great house brand fishing tackle, but they treat their employees like shit and I don’t know a soul who wears that garbage clothing. When Cabela’s was around we always checked out the Cabela’s house brand clothing first and nine times out of ten that is what we bought when it came to hunting and outdoor clothing. It fit well and performed great. Cabela’s house brand hunting and fishing gear was right up there with anyone’s and if you wanted something of a higher quality they stocked major brands too. Sportsman’s Warehouse is a great outfit, and I trade with them or SPORTCo, a large local outfit. I drive past both Bass Pro and Cabela’s all the time and only rarely go in.

Brad: The executives were either in agreement or were not paying attention to what was happening. I doubt that, had you been an executive there, you would have missed what was happening. Asking for forgiveness when one is caught in a decision is not the same as being alert and interested from the beginning.

It’s scary weird so many companies bow down to such a tiny minority of people that, likely, don’t really contribute to their bottom line in the first place. This was proven by how much it hurt them when their customers caught wind of the DEI nonsense.

Frankly, for a lot of these large companies, I think HR has been hijacked by the Left with all this “racist and inclusive” propaganda. Think about it, they wield a LOT of power within the company and none of them want a high profile law suit which is what the Left was threatening if they didn’t comply. The left is all about finding something they can use as a crowbar, then threatening to beat their victims with it until they submit! Companies are finally realizing that a lawsuit is far cheaper than allowing the company to fail!

I’m not a big fan of TSC, never have been. I prefer our local feed stores where the prices are cheaper and they’re individually owned, not corporate owned. With that said I do have to shop there on occasion for vaccinations, wormer, etc. Also never buy their Dumor crap, their Dumor calf milk replacer killed 7 of 10 calves before we figured out what was causing it. Switched to a different brand and saved 3 of them. Then one weekend when the feed store was closed we bought some Dumor chick starter, 2 days of feeding the crap we lost 80% of our chicks. The rest looked like shit, took it away Monday morning and fed them a different brand and didn’t lose another chick.
Dumor horse feed just about killed a friend’s horse. A lady who bought goats from us started having her goats get sick and called us, when we found out she was feeding them Dumor goat feed, we told her to throw it away and buy another goat feed, those that had not died yet, turned around within a day on the different feed.
However, they were smart to reverse this shit as they would go under around here if/when it was found out.
