Authorities in a Tennessee community are investigating after a trailer full of Bibles was intentionally set on fire in front of a church on Easter Sunday.
Around 6 a.m. on Sunday, the Mount Juliet Police Department and Fire Department swiftly responded to a trailer fire located in an intersection that was blocking the entrance of the Global Vision Church.
The church’s pastor, Greg Locke, said in a statement posted on Facebook, that the church’s security cameras were able to capture a man reportedly dropping off the trailer before setting it ablaze.
“There was a lady that had driven through the night to get to our church, and she was in the parking lot and was able to get the police officers here quickly, but it was quite the scene to wake up to on my first morning back from Israel,” Pastor Locke wrote.

Side note; looks like a nice trailer, and the fire was stopped before it penetrated the Bibles on it, so probably in good shape, so free trailer for the church anyway…
…Paper stacks are harder to burn through than you think, given the density and the propensity of fire to burn UP instead of DOWN. I had a fire where a young boy got into his brother’s stacked Playboys under the bed and used a match to “read” them safely under some covers, which unsurprisingly set the covers on fire. The parents said he ran out the hallway looking real scared and they saw flickering red from where he came, so my merry FF band were invited to put a damper on the festivities, which we did. This sort of “Room And Contents” burn requires an overhaul to make sure there aren’t embers lurking, so we proceeded to remove the scorched and rather waterlogged trove from its former concealment beneath the erstwhile mattress, with most below the mattress level not in terrible shape apart from the water (no, I did NOT check for pages stuck together), with a bevy of beauties smiling smiles that would never be noticed plainly visible in all of nature’s glory on each, all of which were being unceremoniously shoveled onto the lawn outside the room in full view of the ever-more-rapt onlookers and sidewalk kibitzers. This prompted an outraged reaction from the folks who weren’t happy when they found theirs sons’ dirty (and toasty!)laundry being so visibly shared with people they would have to share a fence with, so we erected makeshift screens and continued with the glossy carnage behind them, taking care to keep audible comments to a minimum now as well.
Not sure what they did with them after, they were and remained their property, and in an era predating Internet porn may well have had some resale value yet, if properly dried and -heh- unstuck. All I can say though is that they definitely kept the fire from the carpet beneath, so all those images of ladies who may have may have lacked clothing but were definitely gifted with everything else did not die in vain…

…I beg to differ on two points. One, they are POSITIVELY proving that evil indeed exists and is very active among us; two, they are POSITIVELY proving that they hate and fear His Word so much that they would destroy it if they could.

Time for the church to repurpose the trailer, maybe haul Bibles to places that need them.
