Disappointing Update: Trump on the Omnibus

I love how Trump plays on both sides of the fence, here. Shaming the dems with their base and stoking our base with calls for a fully funded wall.

!snip!

Trump signs $1.3 trillion omnibus bill after teasing potential veto

Well, this is a major setback.

There will be many burning their Trump records.

I thought Trump read his base better than this. This is not “winning.” Midterms are in jeopardy now, just like the Ryan/McConnell team wanted. Swamp is filling back up.

“1. On page 207. 2000+ pages to go! Reading about the ever wasteful $6 billion National Science Foundation.

2. Remember the $350,000 NSF spent asking if japanese quail are more sexually promiscuous on cocaine?

3. Reading this monstrous bill full of grant programs begun decades ago reminds me of Reagan’s critique: the nearest thing to immortality is a government program.

Page 226 of terrible, no good, rotten deficit spending bill.

I found a kernel of hope: “no funds in this act will be used to support or justify torture.”

Thank you Congr. Rohrbacher

sounds good —but — privacy advocates fear that NSA still does back-door targeting of US persons.

I shared 600 pages tonight. I’m done tweeting them for the evening. If they insist on voting, I will vote no because it spends to much and there’s just too little time to read the bill and let everyone know what’s actually in it.

Thanks for sticking with me

Victory for conservatives today is that all of America now knows what a budget busting bomb this bill is. Hopefully, today’s battle will embolden conservatives to descend on Congress and demand Constitutional government.” – Senator Paul on Twitter

  1. Sure, CC. You’re going to vote for Biden, or some other POS, or sit it out. Listen, with as many rinos and never Trumpers as there are in the House and Senate, he was gonna get fucked right along with his own voters, until we primary out the traitors in our own party.

    10
  2. It seems the president is beginning to suffer from the same affliction as most elected republicans.
    Beaten dog syndrome.

He should have chucked that mountain of paper into the fireplace behind him and sparked it.

Sir, you gave up a most everything to get a little.

    15
  3. The Republicans sold us out on the POS Omnibus. I will never vote democrat so I guess I will be staying home. Revolution in the only way to take our country back because there is no hope for MAGA.

    12
  4. Hey B. Ryan…We’ve been singing that same old tune about primarying rino’s for quite some time.
He shouldn’t have signed it. He had the power to veto it. It was one of the things we put him there to do.
For whatever reason he may have signed it, I’m pretty sure he just lost me.

    7
  5. I’m sorry. I hope someone can explain this to me.

Obama had $150 billion in cold cash, walking around money to give Iran but Trump can’t do the same to build the wall. How dat be?

  7. This will alienate a lot of you, but I just left this on the WH website; “Your signing of the omnibus spending bill proves that it doesn’t matter who we vote for, the taxpayer gets screwed everytime. And illegal aliens will always come before citizens.”

    21
  8. Naw, I’m not so quick to bail yet. Huge funding for the Military, ongoing funding (but not increasing) for progressive crap. During the Obama / Hillary years it was / would be just the opposite.

He’s outgunned at the moment by News Media, Entertainment Media, Sports Media, Academia, Congress (both houses) and other institutions and yet he is moving the conversation in a conservative direction. Even the Oscars found in necessary to salute the troops (although begrudgingly).

If you can get 20% or 30% performance out of a politician your doing great. Trump exceeds this with his tax cuts, ISIS, taking on trade, transparency tweets, appointing the ‘stache (Bolton) and generally pissing off the anti-American communist democrats, all within his first year.

Never a big Trump fan, never watched his shows. But he continues to get results.

I do not see that his signing of this Omnibus POS as an endorsement, just a setback. We are in a war, and we do not always win the major battles. But he is still on our side.

    7
  9. Trump’s New York liberalism took over. Rush is right. He’s not an ideologue. He’s going to catch Hell from his base.
Too bad he signed off on this disaster budget. Still no wall.

    8
  10. Well, Pelosi, Ryan, McCONnell and Schumer will be celebrating tonight.

The establishment deep state wins another.

Now how about Trump’s 150 judicial appointments that haven’t been approved?

    6
  11. Come on, guys. Let us be pissed off and vent today. Don’t shit on us for being disappointed in Trump. I’d like to kick him in the ass. I hope he will pull his (and OUR) ass out of this fire he put us in today, but I’m not going to pretend it’s ok.

    15
  12. Here’s another tidbit. So much for his promise- American jobs for Americans:

The new spending bill covering the remainder of the fiscal year includes a provision to again allow the Department of Homeland Security to exceed the annual cap on admissions of unskilled non-agricultural workers. This step, if fully implemented by USCIS, potentially would add as many as 63,000 additional H-2B guest workers next year, nearly doubling the size of this program.

    4
  13. Trump is a true republican now… all talk… no action… a big government porous borders do whatever the democrats and K Street want worthless piece of shit. The democrats are going to slaughter in the mid-terms and in 2020. Way to go, dumb ass.

    7
  14. Wow. Is there a lot of crap in this budget. YES. Was it worth signing? YES. The military spending is huge. This money is going right back into the economy. It’s subject to DFAR and ITAR, meaning that money needs to be spent here. It all manufacturing. Manufacturing is by far the highest economic multiplier. The economy will definitely benefit hugely from this.
Mean time, vote Ryan and Turtle Boy out.

    https://www.militarytimes.com/congress/2018/03/22/congress-races-to-pass-13t-defense-friendly-omnibus-and-avoid-shutdown/

    6
  15. I fear that this is Trump’s “read my lips. No new taxes” moment. How did that work out for Bush 41?

$80b for military in a 1.3 trillion dollar budget is a pittance.

    7
  16. Gotta agree with Bad Brad – Trump can’t fix everything at once, especially in the face of the current level of opposition from all sides, but a priority is certainly having some semblance of the manufacturing leverage we once had. When foreign companies build manufacturing plants in the US to avoid tariffs, they pay taxes and hire locals – there’s really no downside

    2
  17. Well, we were screwed for 8 years by the Obama administration and the progressive appeasers Bohner, Pelosi, Reid, Ryan and McCONnell .

The first 6 months were fairly good, we’re only getting screwed for the upcoming 6 months by Ryan, Pelosi, McCONnell and Schumer….so far.

    1
  18. I heard part of Trump’s speech on the radio.

    1) He sounded as though he was making a sales pitch for a defective automobile.

    2) He also sounded as though he were a snake oil salesman.

This cannot end well unless there is some deep and unknowable provision in the 2000 page abortion that is the “Omnibus” tax bill.

The “Pitchman” approach to rationalizing the ratification of the bill suggests mal intent.

    Just sayin’.

    5
  19. Right now, with the state of the economy, the Capitalistic in me will take this smiling. I believe it’s part of a broader economic plan and he HAD to do it. Step 1, get the coal producers going again. Step 2, get the smelters producing again, Step 3, Start manufacturing military parts again. You need coal to smelt, you need aluminum and steel to build what’s in that budget.
If we want to fix the rest of this shit, make your votes count.

    4
  20. I hope you all realize that this enormous pile of dog shit spending bill only covers the next SIX MONTHS. I’m as pissed as anybody here, but does anybody really believe that McCONnell and Paul Rino would have done anything other than blame Trump if he’d vetoed this? Quit treating Trump as if he engineered this – he didn’t. Let your ‘representatives’ know they’ve lost your support. In my state, it’s all Democrats. There will be another bill in six months, and we are still in the second quarter of this presidency.

    3
  21. No, I’m not bailing on Trump, but,
I think people are right to be pissed but mostly take it out on the RINOs.

I question the Tweet about his veto would have been overridden. She’s sure 2/3 of each chamber would have voted to override? I don’t know about that.

    6
  22. Trump had no realistic choice.

    Military first.

Remember this is a spending bill. The money is allocated, but doesn’t mean he has to rush out and spend it.

Give Trump more Trumpians in Congress. Get rid of the RINOs.

    3
  23. I for one am tired of defending him. Perhaps the most important piece of legislation to cross his desk since the inauguration and he folds to the dims and rinos. This will indeed ‘Trump’ all that he has accomplished so far.

We are truly a rudderless nation adrift without any reliable leadership. I’m done with him.

    Badco

  24. “Hopefully, today’s battle will embolden conservatives to descend on Congress and demand Constitutional government.”

So, Senator Paul is confirming that The United States federal government has no legal authority. Over the states. Over the people. In false representation of the same before the world.

Or, is The Constitution still in effect? Doing what it has always done. What it was designed to do. And, this, is what United States’ Constitutional government really is? Same as it ever was.

    3
  25. This is the end of his presidency. He has betrayed all of the campaign promises that got him elected. He has depressed and demoralized his base and energized the traitor base. The Traitor Party will now take congress and spend the rest of his term destroying the MAGA agenda.

    So sad.
