After 9/11, I was trying to get back from DC, and went thru agonizing security checks. Finally at the gate and in line to board, I was randomly selected for frisking which included undoing my belt, etc..this was in front of all others. Not far behind me was a group of muslims in full garb. They passed right thru. I remember exclaiming to the security folks “Seriously? You select a combat vet, Eagle Scout and let them thru? I’m the threat?!”

I have seen worse…Denver Airport some years ago an elderly lady , at least 70, during summer dressed in a blouse and skirt with simple shoes, stockings a slip and bra..she could not hold her hands out for very long so another TSA person held them for her but it was not only her lack of strength stamina but shoulder arthritis so she gave a quick yell when her arms were held up. The hands went up her skirt and she shook and began to cry. They told her she was not being helpful and led her into a nearby room. I waited because I actually feared for the woman. Meanwhile, swarthy men went unstopped on to the planes that awaited when she was finally brought out holding a bundle which turned out to be her stockings…she went over to the area where you gathered your belongings and asked a woman going through if she would help her to fasten her bra as she could not..and was helped. Yes, I recognize that unwitting people can be duped or conned into doing bad things but, from 20 feet away, I watched as people I profiled as a citizen with no experience were not groped at all who had bulges, averting eyes, loose clothing, boots etc streamed through but most of all I thought about how singularly two TSA goons made this woman suffer because they could…and I know why it was so easy to run ovens for humans..
