The wheels of justice do indeed grind slowly as evident in what is becoming a 1st Amendment Case for the ages, Mann v. Steyn. At stake is the right to call into question someone else’s work (that being University of Pennsylvania’s own Michael Mann, the creator of the now infamous “Hockey Stick” of global temperatures) without facing a financially debilitating defamation lawsuit. The case is currently stalled in a D.C. appellant court, but is expected to eventually make its way to the Supreme Court.
In the meantime, another professor has filed an amicus brief against the plaintiff offering a glimpse of Mr. Mann’s willingness to engage in baseless character assassination against his own fellow academics who dare to question his research.
The unhinged left better hope Mann doesn’t prevail in this case or those most prone to toss out the “racist” or “Nazi” accusation had better be prepared to defend those words in court.
Last I heard, that bald-headed stooge is at Penn State, not U of P. 🙂
It’s people like Mark Steyn, Pamela Gellar, David Horiwitz, and yes–Big Fur, etc. that are on the front lines for just causes. They deserve our support.

This isn’t just a 1st Amendment case, this could be for all the Climate Change Carbon Credit Green Energy Scam marbles. Mann is a lynchpin of the whole man-made climate change fraud and if he can be proved to have falsified his data (part of what Steyn alleges) and is a liar then one of legs of this fraud gets cut off and some of the other proponents (Al Gore maybe?) become vulnerable. Trump needs to gets at least one other conservative Judge on SCOTUS as soon as he is able as this will probably end up there.
Why does this remind me of Copernicus and Galileo? They questioned the “settled science” of their times (Flat Earth and Geocentric Universe) and were being threatened by loss of their livelihood and jail.

I heard Mann got shot in the face. Unfortunately it wasn’t true.
Spend three days digging through the East Anglia University global warming scam e-mails with a half-decent team of paralegals, and you will have a boat-load of “reasonable doubt” if not evidence of outright collusion to prop up the data. Mann might just end up hoisted on his own petard!

This case could not be more important. It DESTROYS the credibility of the Globull Warming. Anytime I need to convince someone it’s all a crock of shit, I use this case, because
-Mann is a an all important figure in climate science
-Steyn called him a complete and total fraud in a book
-Mann sued him for libel
-Mann never moves forward with the lawsuit which seems kind of funny for someone who wants to clear his name
-Instead, Mann hits Steyn with endless frivolous motions which are designed simply to bleed Steyn dry. The implications are obvious — Mann is simply trying to shut Steyn up.
-The DC courts seem to be playing along with this horrendous abuse of process
-The media has nothing to say about this attempt to chill speech and this abuse of Steyn’s rights and how this whole episode completely discredits “Climate Change”
Basically, it completely supports everything we’re saying about this scam — in a way that any open minded person can understand
