No wonder there are so few genuine journalists like Sharyl Attkisson left in a field that has come to be dominated by servile political apparatchiks. Here is what happens if you poke your nose where the authorities don’t want it:
Former CBS News Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson — who claims the government hacked her computer, TV and phone while she reported on the Benghazi terror attack — has released a new video showing what could be evidence of the government taking over her computer.
“That very night, with [White House spokesman Eric] Schultz, [White House Press Secretary Jay] Carney and company freshly steaming over my Benghazi reporting, I’m home doing final research and crafting questions for the next day’s interview with [Thomas] Pickering. Suddenly data in my computer file begins wiping at hyperspeed before my very eyes. Deleted line by line in a split second: it’s gone, gone, gone,” Attkisson writes in her book.
She used her phone to take video.

Next big moment: Attkisson gets her computer checked out by someone identified as “Number One,” who’s described as a “confidential source inside the government.” A climactic meeting takes place at a McDonald’s outlet at which Attkisson and “Number One” “look around” for possibly suspicious things. Finding nothing, they talk. “First just let me say again I’m shocked. Flabbergasted. All of us are. This is outrageous. Worse than anything Nixon ever did. I wouldn’t have believed something like this could happen in the United States of America.” That’s all coming from “Number One.”
The breaches on Attkisson’s computer, says this source, are coming from a “sophisticated entity that used commercial, nonattributable spyware that’s proprietary to a government agency: either the CIA, FBI, the Defense Intelligence Agency, or the National Security Agency (NSA).” Attkisson learns from “Number One” that one intrusion was launched from the WiFi at a Ritz Carlton Hotel and the “intruders discovered my Skype account handle, stole the password, activated the audio, and made heavy use of it, presumably as a listening tool.”

Remember that “backdoor” that the government asked microsoft to include in their software packages? This is why. I know this one is a Mac. A Windows machine probably would have been a piece of cake for those criminals, thanks to Bill Gates.
You would think that someone like Sharyl Attkisson would know how to use a smartphone so you could actually see what was happening! Is it some kind of brain thing that prevents people from understanding aspect ratio? HOLD YOUR EFFING PHONE SIDEWAYS DAMMIT!

She, of all people, should know what they’re capable of.

This is bogus, she spent too much time watching War Games. If you’re getting hacked in this manner it means someone is remotely watching the desktop at the same time. Nobody is going to waste time hacking someone in this manner unless they’re giggling teens. If someone wanted to get rid of data on her hard drive, she would never see it happen, instead she’d be looking at a blank screen.
I’m with Unruly. The fact that this is a Mac is actually very disturbing. Windows machines can be hijacked by a fairly hi-IQ labra-doodle puppy in Bosnia with a laptop and no gov’t connections at all. Macs are essentially unix main-frames that don’t just let anybody do anything unless the OS is ok with it. This kind of desktop sharing has to be strictly allowed by her. Maybe she did for publicity; who knows. But if not, it means Apple has buckled under to the most complete NSA access hooks, just like MicroSoft. I guess that’s not a big surprise.
Something isn’t right with this video – you can’t see the keyboard/mouse while all this is going on, and the clicks are audible indicating what appears to be someone making key strokes/mouse clicks on her computer.
As another poster said, highly unlikely that the government would be watching what your typing as your typing it. If they wanted her stuff gone they’d wipe out the entire drive leaving no clues behind.
In this scenario, there would be an entry on her network logs indicating – maybe not who – but that someone other than her was on her computer.
I don’t doubt it’s something the Obozo administration would do, but I’m not buying this one.
