Wading Into the Court of Public Opinion Is Like Wading Into a Septic Tank

Should I give this professor the benefit of the doubt, that he was simply ignorant of the facts in the case he opined about?

If I seem pessimistic please note: while they were reading the verdict of Derek Chauvin, 15 year old #MakiyahBryant was being shot 4 times by Columbus, Ohio police. A Black child was shot and killed by police today. In my city. It never, ever ends…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I truly hope this guy Bing’s his name, sees this, and comes here and says, “ya, when I saw the facts of this case I realized I reacted too hastily.”
But, I have my doubts.
There are people on Twatter that fully know the facts of the case and they are still condemning the cop.
For the uninitiated, the gigantic girl above, with the knife, is a 15 year-old who is about to stab the girl in pink.
A responding officer (who was called to the scene by the very same 15 year-old girl) shot her as she attempted murder.
Regardless of facts, the ignorant ilk sprung into action.
One of the things the pea-brain brigade are getting hung up on is that the girl who was shot is the one that called the police.
Uhhh, why would that matter?
Are the police supposed to let a girl stab another girl, right in front of them when they are tasked to serve and protect, because she is the one that called 911?
Here’s someone corresponding with me –
I’ve been asking people, and so far I’ve gotten no responses, what they would think of a white cop who shot a black person who was about to stab Kamala Harris. They are avoiding answering.
It’s clear, these people have no regard for the girl in pink whatsoever.
#HerLifeDoesn’tMatter
All that matters is that it was a white cop (that protected a black human being from being stabbed) that shot a black person. Beyond that, nothing too deep is contemplated, because there is no depth in the shallow end of the IQ pool.
Update – Wow.
Maybe it is possible for reason to prevail in the court of public opinion???
Geez.
  1. Reverse racism. Reverse racism.
    While cops aren’t perfect we need such actions to protect our society from itself and the spoiled class of persons (white or black) who have been enabled as predators among us. Age and race don’t matter – all lives matter to God even unborn ones.
    Grow up and learn to be responsible for yourself.
    Absolutely, his color demands it.
  3. Listen to the people around this scene react. This big girl almost knifed another girl right in front of the LEO, and then, even tho the cop was feet away from her at one point, she runs at Girliepink with a knife and is half a second away from killing her
    And all these witnesses instantly yell, “Why did you (white cop) shoot her?”
    These people have the intellectual agility of monitor lizards. Its the only thought they’re capable of — Me victim of white male. Give me money
  4. The dude the stabber was hanging out with actually kicked a lighter skinned woman in the head as she was laying on the ground.
    The stabber was in a foster home. What was going on with her that her parents and her aunt didn’t want her in their homes?
    The almost stabbed chick should be thanking the cops.
    The stabber was going for her neck. If the cop hesitated, they’d both be dead.
  5. It is a “heads we win, tails you lose” scenario that they exploit all the time. Had the officer not shot the attempted murderer the story would have been: White Cop Allows Black Girl to be Stabbed To Death.
    I have lived it first hand, when I was doing ADA advocacy and a buddy and I could muster hundreds of disabled people to show up with a simple phone call we were approached by every “social justice” movement under the sun and actually entertained a foe of them until we discovered that they were not there to advocate for the disabled community, they were there to exploit the individuals we were advocating on behalf of. They wanted these people to show up for their phony baloney causes to be used as props and photo opps.
    They explained their tactics, in detail, and they included how they can exploit any tragedy irrespective of how it was handled to advance their cause… which had only the most tenuous connection in most cases.
    We were dealing with specific examples of gross negligence and reckless indifference by local jurisdictions and State Agencies to address real life examples wherein their own standards were being given short shrift, if any attention was paid to them at all. In most cases the cost to do it right would have been negligible, but they were totally indifferent to that.
  6. First: If he had any sense, he’d have realized, ‘his city’, turned shithole many years ago.
    Second: I’d like to think he career choice might have been inspired by two great men: Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams.
    Alas, his ill-considered opinion reveal that he does not resemble those two pillars of real wisdom and common sense.
  7. No doubt many only think they would know exactly what to do in every situation. Too bad reality doesn’t work that way. With only nano seconds to make the call you make it. You have not lived the officers life or walked in his shoes, maybe he made a bad call in the past and has that one playing in his decisions or the story of another person he worked with flashes in his mind. Do you turn left or do you turn right at the child that dashes out in front of your car? You only get one decision and there is no fast forward to see what’s ahead, and no rewind. Stop with the judgement calls that you where not in on making at the time. Life is NOT fair every hour of the day.
  8. This is what happens when you see the world through the prism of color–facts no longer matter. If you were told a cop (race not specified) shot a person (color and gender not specified) who was about to stab another person (color and gender not specified), and that the individual about to be stabbed survived, it would all sound perfectly justified and you would praise the cop for acting quickly. But see the world through the black/white prism and it’s racism all the way down.
  9. I’ve listened to my fair share of shit on this shooting today. Including two talk shows. Black folks calling in, why didn’t he taser her? Why didn’t he shoot her in the leg? I’m finally like Kiss my Lillie White Ass. Question I have not heard asked yet, Did the 16 year old with the big ass knife bare any responsibility in getting her ass killed? WTF? Also, the cop was a pro. No Mag dump. Did what he had to do. By now I’m sure everyone’s seen La Bon Bons stupid tweet, which he has recently deleted. To late. Stupid fuck got killed on twatter. Anyway some enterprising peeps on IG started doing some research on the officer. He’s a vet that was in country on several tours and shoots competitively. LaBron, you’re next bitch.
  10. You will also notice that no one else was hit other than the perp. Where is a statement from the girl in pink thanking the officer for the fact that she is alive and apparently uninjured in this?
    I saw that. No impact with the militant. But as far as the taser goes, if I’m the officer rolling up to this shit show, I’m exiting my cruiser with my Glock, not my taser.
    There’s a big, huge, push for all WHITE popo to stop showing up fora month in these Ghetto locations. Hey, if this is an acceptable life style for these animals than why bother?
  12. If I was a cop that had a sense of right and wrong, and a genuine feeling of patriotism I would turn in my badge and look to serve those that I love in a different role. It’s impossible to look back a generation and see that this is where we would be.
