Should all works – past, present, and future – by artists caught in the #metoo trap be banished forever?
Columnist Lionel Shriver noticed a problem:
For reasons that escape me, artists’ misbehavior now contaminates the fruits of their labors, like the sins of the father being visited upon the sons. So it’s not enough to punish transgressors merely by cutting off the source of their livelihoods, turning them into social outcasts, and truncating their professional futures. You have to destroy their pasts. Having discovered the worst about your fallen idols, you’re duty-bound to demolish the best about them as well.
was Caravaggio related to Freddie Mercury?
How come that standard doesn’t apply to Bill Clinton?
what’s the prob? … sounds like ol’ Caravaggio would fit right in w/ the HollyWhore crowd
Wait until they start shooting with a shot gun (pun intended) and take out all the friends & associates of the intended target as well.
If anyone should be able to plan for winter, it would be those living in the NORTH. If they can’t do it, just put them out on an iceflow. #Too Dumb to Breathe
A lot of German artists/musicians were ostracized due to perceived connections to Hitler. Wagner’s operas were out of favor for quite a while because Adolph liked them. Never mind that Wagner died about 40 years before Hitler came to power.
Caravaggio painted beauty. Many young people have never heard of him. Art today too often is bereft of any beauty – much of it is positively ugly. Ugly is celebrated in the arts nowadays.
