An amazing true story about a dog is No Greater friend.
It’s an incredible story of a pup from Shanghia, 1937+/-, adopted by an English sailor while Japan was attacking. Find a synopsis of the book for more. If you love dogs you will love this story.
The dog became an officer in the British navy, while in a POW camp.

“We don’t deserve dogs”
No we don’t. But I’ll see the five that have passed before me soon enough, and the other two down the road.

And dogs don’t deserve the Chinese, at least the ones who live in the nightmare called the PRC.

I don’t care if it isn’t true. We still don’t deserve dogs.

Still more believable than joey biden winning the presidency.

Nice story, but not true. Nobody survived above the plane strikes

@Msloosedog. I bet you’re the center of attention at every party. People just naturally flock to you.

Well shit, I liked the story better before it was debunked. Damn those pesky facts. I;m going to pretend that it happened because it makes me feel good.
All kidding aside, assuming the story is fake, who makes up shit like that and why? Is it because it gives you a rush to be the originator of a viral story – even if it’s a lie?

I’m in desperate need of a big hound to haul across my lap and maul some ears and scritch that skull and chest. Tickle that belly till the rabbit kicks start.
Been over two years since Bleu passed now. Damn, I miss that dog. 90 pounds of pure love and adventure. Probably one of the big reasons my wife married me. She fell in love with that boy, and him, her.

Of course we deserve dogs. The question is, do they deserve us?

Hey Rick, How you doing?…Recovering well I hope….great to see you post…
I have this ancient Dachshund that I got “guardianship” over after a friend had a couple of strokes and was moved to a nursing home…I’ve had her for 3 years……She won’t eat and I can’t get the meds down her now. I’m afraid that Wednesday will be her last trip to the vets…..Fucking dogs, I love them all….

“Well shit, I liked the story better before it was debunked. ”
…if you look at this link I posted here and above, while it debunks THIS story, it has some wonderful ACTUAL dog hero stories from that day, it’s a dog lover site, check it out…
Some of the best times in my life and I’ve been all over the world, had a gorgeous daughter for 37 years and have had the chance to be with some wonderful women, have been with my dogs.
I’m now deciding on my last ones as my remaining female GSD is 15.
Wouldn’t have been nearly the same life without them and if there is really a Heaven, we’ll be together again.

@Regretfully Researched
Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs and have been a dog owner all my life until just a few years ago. I have NO DOUBT that there are similar REAL life stories of dogs doing amazing things for their owner. My whole comment was about this one particular story. But I will check out your link. I’m sure that it will bring a smile to my face or a tear to my eye or both.

I had to go and hug my dog after that story. Bless that doggy.

Going through my saved videos I have in a file labeled “Songs to Record” and found this.
I have no recollection of when I saved it or that it was even in the file but it certain fits the theme of this thread.

No Mercy,
Yes, a simple check on the height of the World Trade Center towers shows 110 stories.
People always get caught when they embellish and add a couple extra stories to the story.

That’s incredible. It made me cry especially when I thought she was going to die.

@Chickity… – I have to give a little criticism, “not all good” dogs should be changed to “not all dogs”. Pets are the best, regardless of whether they are dogs, or cats, or pigs, or whatever. They give us unforgiving love and help us when we need them. We are the ones that sometimes let them down, but they forgive us.
OK, just my opinion

@ Msloosedag I immediately had my doubts about the story also for several reasons most of them noted above by others. having said that when you debunk a story like this a little tact is appreciated. Sometimes a story is so total off base and or malicious it calls for a blunt FU but not this one.
All good dogs go to heaven!
I hadn’t heard that story before. Good dogs are special animals!
Miraculous! Especially since there weren’t 112 floors….
But yeah, dogs rule.
My pup and I agree.
I like the story, but…
