We have a young patriot in the pet gallery!

The humans have invaded the pet gallery!

I’ve done people with their pets, but this is a first for our gallery, a painting sans animal! And what a great study. This was a joy to paint because this was such a great pose and expression. I’m very happy with the result.

This is Merry Poppet’s grandson!

  1. You’re the master. Fantastic. Skill isn’t an easy thing. It takes talent and lots and lots of work. You’ve done it.

Give yourself a big round of applause.

I just walked by the painting I received from you today and broke out into an uncontrollable smile.

You bring a lot of joy to people you big silly furry guy.

  2. His picture almost took my breath away. His portrait DID take my breath away! Fur, your magnificent talent shows in all your work; no matter whether critter or human.

Whoever took the photo has a good eye for composition.

    Outstanding.

  3. I told Merry that this reminds me a lot of my early painting days.
I don’t know if I mentioned this on the site ever, but I studied under Brad Holland for 2 years. and this is very much like the work I produced coming out of that class.

I love this painting, and Merry sent several pictures and this was not her first choice, but she relented to my suggestion and I think we have a winner here.

  4. You do realize that the iotw world is egging you on, your writing is inciteful and beautiful and funny, but you’ve got crazy skills boy. The world needs more art. Real art.

    Be a Dutch master.

Ok Dutch Master maybe a bridge too far with the wooden shoes and the enormous cheese wheels and the prostitutes in the windows and all.

Pester BFH into his iconic masterpiece that we can all buy prints of. He’s about to break through from individual portraits into Americanography.

America is ready for the next great master.
    Rockwell v2.0

  5. A very ‘fresh’ handling with the brushwork, Sir Fur…your best of all I’ve seen over the years! Also like the red shirt– gives it all much more ‘life/contrast’!

    You are so fine…never stop!!!
