Weather Channel founder calls Bill Nye ‘pretend scientist’

WT: Even before the skeptical documentary “Climate Hustle” hits U.S. theaters Monday, it already has unsettled the climate change debate.

Weather Channel founder John Coleman rushed to the defense of the film, which challenges the catastrophic climate change narrative, after “science guy” Bill Nye slammed it in a clip released over the weekend as “not in our national interest and the world’s interest.”

“I have always been amazed that anyone would pay attention to Bill Nye, a pretend scientist in a bow tie,” Mr. Coleman said Saturday on the website Climate Depot.  more

  1. Cut Nye some slack. He’s only trying to be a successful children’s clown act… like Pee Wee Herman, Soupy Sales, Bozo, Gene London, and Pinky Lee.

It’s sad he never achieved the credibility of Romper Room, Mister Rogers, and Captain Kangaroo. 🙁

  2. Nye always reminds me of that ignorant and boring children’s TV show host from “Mrs Doubtfire”. The one that later became the mailman when Robin Williams took over.

  3. I only wish that the movie could be shown on Showtime or HBO or Netflixx and some of the other cable channels that people watch. That way it would get a wider reach and start a lot more questions being asked. The problem of course is that no matter how well made and informative the movie is it does not follow the social line that these channels spout. So like “The Road to 9/11” you can probably expect that this movie will be shown once then not be seen again. A great pity.

  4. Looking at his picture and thinking ……. why would any male want to tie a pretty bow around his neck and have that as an element of his persona? What is the message he is trying to send? Makes one wonder about his credibility without ever saying anything about his views on well, anything.

  5. Many years ago, I formed the opinion (through personal observation) that guys (other than waiters) who wore bowties instead of regular ties were – well… – different. Not necessarily bad, mind you, but just,…different.

I don’t know if that has any relevance here, but I share it with you for what it’s worth.

P.S. – No offense meant to any bowtie wearers here. Just an opinion.

    🙂
